Awesome post! Always looking for some ‘less paved’ roads here in Ohio! Mind sharing your gps route(s)?
I appreciate all the likes and comments , unfortunatly i do not have the GPS files anymore . My bike was totaled in a wreck late last fall and will be taking a break from motorcycle riding. Make sure to keep the rubber side down ! Eric
I have a couple riding buddies and we’d like to get together to ride this. Approximately how many miles is this and how many days did it take y’all to complete?
I'm looking to ride the TOT and camp along the way this spring/summer (at least after the temps get back above 0). I have a fairly decent idea of the route through mapping the areas and conversations with guys who have done sections. Anyone have some better route details available?
I live in Ohio and am also really interested in TOT tracks or ideas of a trail if one gets reassembled.
agapetos. I've got some runs here in OH. Mostly just Maumee SP, Chillicothe, Mohican, and other areas to the south
I believe that there's a guy that helps keep the TOT active and fellow inmates help keep it updates to him. I'm sure they can always use a hand keeping the route open and cleared. But not sure who it is now. The fellow who was doing it moved to Texas last year for retirement I think. Hopefully someone will chime in and give you better info. Peace
That's the Big Musky; it's an old coal mining dragline excavator bucket which operated between 1969 and 1991. The huge bucket weighs 210 tons. This roadside park is situated along Route 78 in Southeast Ohio.
Haven't been able to to find much info on this trail. I'll keep looking, and pass along anything found. Would be nice to find some places worth riding closer to home.
While I don't have the TOT gpx file, I do have a couple of other interesting Ohio adventure gpx files. I've attached a screenshot (below) from my GPX Viewer App. The one in the Southeast is (I'm pretty sure) from the Detroit BMW club while attending the Wailin Wayne Weekend last year. The four loops above I-70 start and end in Coshocton and were made available by Road Runner Magazine. I'm not sure how to share them to this thread via my phone, but if you want them, send me your email (via conversation) and I can share them via text right from the GPX Viewer App.
Rudderfeet and I have taken over the stewardship of the TOT after Swingset moved to Texas. Even though it’s all public roads the original intent was to only make the files available by request over at the Adenture in Ohio thread. Swingset wanted to try and keep non-MC travel off of it as much as possible. If anyone here is interested PM me and I’ll send them your way. I, too, work fire (Columbus) so it may take a day to respond with the link.
To all who have PM’d about the TOT track I’ll get them out to you tonight. Currently at work and heading to Cleveland right after.
i've spent most of the spring flying into Cincinnati and working long hours all week to then fly home on friday. Its nice to see a different view of the state than the myriad of highways and development that I see when stuck in urban areas.
A buddy @Wyocrawler has some of the sections , but I'm sure they are on the older side. Have they changed much over the last 5 years. Maybe he'll chime in on how old his might be. I'm hoping to get to ride more of it this summer
