    Hallooooo

Shall soon be leaving home (Saint John, NB) and heading through the Trans Lab clockwise via Quebec. Return via NFLD, I think. Not 100%, might just reverse it.

Any inmates along the route who might take pity on me and give a place to dry out my clothes in the not unlikely event I hit 4 or 5 days of rain?

Or, possibly lend advanced mechanical aid? I'm semi competent with wrenches, but stuff happens when you're out there.

When are you leaving? I'm heading out in just over 2 weeks. I'm riding clockwise and out to the end at Old Fort and then reversing it back.

Cool. Maybe I'll see you out there. I'll be on a 250 as well, a WR250R. Which bike are you taking?

EDIT: never mind, I'll be back by then. I got my dates confused

WR250R. I'll be the guy with way too much stuff strapped to his bike ...

Lol! My plan is to make a run up to Esker Road, and hopefully ride the rails up to Schefferville, but I'll play that one by ear once I get to the tracks, ride the Orma Lake Road, see how far past North West River I can make it, out to Saint Lewis as far as I can go, and then the rest of the Trans Lab. So, hopefully I'll run into you at some point, but we may miss each other while I'm on one of the side excursions.

Oh, and because I'm a nerd, I made a map of road surfaces (based upon reports of people who have recently been there), gas stations, and distances between gas stations.

Glad to help. Keep in mind, I've never been there, so this is only based off of ride reports and gas station locations listed on Google Maps. So I can't vouch for 100% accuracy, but I'm reasonably sure it's reasonably accurate. :D

Oh, and I realized I left out one of the fuel distances, so here's the updated one:

Thanks Max. I'm leaving from Florida on 6/22 planning to catch the Blanc-Sablon around 7/5 for a counter-clockwise ride.

Thanks for the surface update. Some decent unpaved parts but mostly paved now from the looks of it. Fine by me either way.
I'll be leaving here (Calgary) on June 28th and should be there around July 5th.
    See you out there.

I sure hope no northbound riders at 3/4 their fuel range encountered this.

Yikes. Effectively cuts the province in two. I expect it will be fixed rather quickly as soon as weather permits.

I don't know if you're underway already or not, but depending on what your game plan is- there's a route across Newfoundland called the Trailway - goes from Ferry to Ferry on the old train path.
Wouldn't put you in Labrador but your timing seems unfortunate- sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

When were you planning on passing through that area? I can't believe it's going to be very long at all before it's fixed. This washout effectively cuts the province in half.
