I did try, all I saw, was a view to the right from helmet angle. I’ll try again later.

I can physically move the screen to any angle to see the different views or drag my finger on the screen.

Interesting video. Expected kind of fish eye, but it is normal perspective.

I didn't like that feature when taking panoramic photos or early 360º videos where I directed the FOV.

This new tech allows the viewer to pan in any direction like the google guy...

... and if you’re doing the song thing... committed to music by Lowell George/Little Feat - “From Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonopah” in the song, Willin’ :D

I just listened to all versions from Linda Ronstadt, Bob Dylan, Roselit Bone, Tom Petty, Blackberry Smoke, Jamey Johnson, and so on but none of them compares to Lowell George...

A great song for life on the road... Thanks for that...

That 360° is so bloody clever. I wonder what they’re thinking up next?

~ POD: Basecamp at Furnace Creek and Monkey about Death Valley...

some road shots headed to Death Valley...
    1.jpeg

found some cheap(er) gas at Costco for $3.43 per gallon... gas ranged from $3.63 to $4.19 depending if there was competition from other stations... BTW gas at Furnace Creek was $4.94 per gallon...

home sweet home for the next few days... I was lucky to get the last tent spot since the two people ahead of me were looking for an RV site with hookups...

~ POD: Ride Titus Canyon and see; Artist Palette, Devil's Golf Course, Badwater Basin...

After making sure the Monkey was ready to go along with my personal safety gear (Spot X, IFAK, water, and basic survival gear) I was off on Daylight Pass Road headed to Titus Canyon. I couldn't help but giggle while making my way up Daylight Pass RD riding the Monkey... but then reality reminded me it was no laughing matter as a couple of bars on the fuel indicator dropped climbing DPR at only 25 or so miles. Luckily one bar reappeared once I got on the backside... no matter I was carrying a one gallon GL gas bag, and two (1) one liter fuel bottles just in case...

    1.jpg

the vastness that is Death Valley... the backside of Daylight Pass Rd headed to Beatty, NV.... Rhyolite is just on the left side at the base of the hills in the horizon...
    2.jpg

    3.jpg

    finally...
    4.jpg

The trail wasn't bad with rocks and loose gravel. I was more concerned about the deep potholes (at least for the Monkey's 12" tires and limited ground clearance). I either went around it or slowed to wade into the hole. There were also rock steps that needed to be avoided...

    5.jpeg

I made it a point to dismount and break out the camera...

    headed to Red Pass...

My speed headed up and over Red Pass was in the neighborhood of 5 to 27 mph...

360 pannable climb up to Red Pass...

    13.jpeg

    14.jpg

rock steps on the backside of Red Pass... nothing for a dualsport with 21" tires but a whole 'nother story with a ground clearance of 6.3 inches on the Monkey...
    15.jpeg

    downhill on Red Pass...

chance for some Tom Foolery at the entrance of Titus Canyon...

    ride into Titus Canyon Rd....

Once I got to Titus Canyon itself, I decided to slow down a bit so the GoPro can catch some details on the canyon face and for the hikers on the trail...

    run through Titus Canyon...

    hikers at Titus Canyon...

    Titus Canyon run complete...
    16.jpg

After making it out of Titus Canyon, I had about two fuel bars left on the Monkey... enough for me to get back to Furnace Creek for some lunch and colds drinks....

One good thing about basecamping, I can bring anything I can fit in the bed and cab of the truck... cooler full of food and drinks, other glamping supplies, and extra fuel instead of paying $4.94 per gallon at the Furnace Creek Gas Station. After fueling myself and the Monkey it was a short ride to Artist Palette...

had to do some hiking to the viewpoint...

there were a few people taking in the sights and saw this girl with her dog... I asked to take her photo just looking at the open desert so I wouldn't get bit by her little buddy... after the fact I showed her the photo I took...
    20.jpg

this is the view she was admiring...
