"For those unfamiliar with Trails End Road/Spencer Road it is a 5 mile stretch of gravel and unmaintained road, definitely worth a visit."

Can you please tell me what town/area to find this road, or what main road it is off of? Is it the one off Route 3 behind Ashokan Reservoir? I did a quick search but a bunch of Spencer Roads pop up. Thanks much, I need to ride this trail!

The new "IfUCanOnlyDo1" track in the viewer has the "Trails End" segment as the Green segment North of Wawarsing.

Seriously. That tourism org that keeps showing me Hunter Mountain on tv should really be paying this guy and promoting motorcycle touring through the area.

April can't come soon enough for me, I think your 990 is going to like the Gilboa loop.

Also I posted a link with all the gpx files here.

Thanks for Sharing all these great rides. I live in Hunter NY and have been riding the area for a few years now. KTMs , Hondas, Harleys but just got a BMW 1100 gs and I love it. Everything else stays in the garage. Im installing a new Garmin 660 tommorrow, first GPS for me. Tired of searching with the I phone. Looking forward to loading it up and riding some of these awsome tracks this weekend. Hope to see you in the wind. Thanks again

    Hi Skidfleash,

The procedure for importing my color coded tracks into Garmin's software can be frustrating because the segments get resorted. I think the best approach is to not use the color coded gpx file, but download and import the files that end with "1.kml" from this link.

    http://www.advcatskills.org/Maps/Tracks

    http://www.advcatskills.org/Maps/Tracks/AdvTours/UDCatDak10001.kml

For example, for the UDCATDAT1000 track, download the UDCATDAK10001.kml file which is a single segment and not color coded, and import it into the Garmin Basecamp program, once you have done that, I think you can right click it and convert it to a route, which I believe will give you turn by turn instructions.

I don't have a Garmin GPS, but I have loaded Basecamp. Send me a message if it doesn't work, it has been a problem in the past and you get to be the beta tester for the new single segment kml file approach.

OK sounds good. I loaded my laptop up with all the different types of files. When I loaded basecamp I just did the gpx files. I'm a computer dummy so its all a struggle for me. I see in base camp you can manully change the track colors, but that would take forever. today I'm riding down Frost Valley, west on Pole rd and then up the Beaverkill and Cross Mt Rd area. Thanks for the help and I will get back to you with my results.
