The type of riding I prefer to do is what we call “no trail trail riding”. We just pick a direction and ride through the woods. I try to set my bikes up for that type of riding. Typically the speeds are low and there is a lot of log hopping. I’d ride my trials bike more for that but the brush pushes on the clutch and brake levers too much. I don’t want to put bark busters on that bike.

Hard Enduro is gaining in popularity. The market for that type of bike is growing. Especially with how much traffic some of the trails out west are seeing. They are getting torn up and turning into hard enduro type trails.

I still race enduros, and do some faster trail riding, so the Husky is set up for that. Kenda Ibex tires front and rear are much better for the off trail riding though. For riding through brush and saplings, I bolt a pair of flag hand guards on the Scorpa. Easy on and off, and keep unwanted stuff off the levers.

Yes and as niche as it is means Factory marketing men will compromise the required perimeters to such an extent self modifying /builds or specialist modified bikes will prove the best option as i said in my above post initially.

Most times we ride single track, but in MO we like to ride no track.

I used to have an AJP ‘Ultrapasser’. It was a PR3 frame with PR4 swingarm and 21” front, 18” rear. Great bike but the engine was just a little too soft.
I was looking for a Beta 300 4T evo engine to try out. I think it would have been an outstanding bike with that engine. But I never found a used engine and eventually traded the bike in on an XTrainer.

I still have not ridden a Freeride, but the lack of a kickstart (and having a KTM 2-stroke start too) made it a non-contender for me.

My friend Mike Waller has spent the last year building a Jimmy Brittain Replica. I stopped in to see it last Monday. Mike started it up for me.... very cool!
Here's the last video on the build.....

The X Track is great but it doesn't replace this bike, it's pretty much pure Trials and the Scorpa is more like a small Enduro bike.
