I can't tell if this one has been posted before. Apologies if it has, this thread is 90 pages for me!

Question from the novice scorer. Can someone familiar with NMTA rules clear this up for me? I wouldn't know what to call it had I been scoring this section.

At 11:02 (and 13:10), rider goes over first obstacle and stops. Hops front end right, then as he goes forward again the rear tire crosses the path his front tire already took. Does it not count as crossing his own path? I'm guessing no, just looked really odd.

    Thanks.

The rear axle is what counts, The rear axle can not cross its self.

Thanks, Just found it in our rule book.

"The motorcycle does a complete loop, crossing its own track with both tires. Similar to crossing a taped boundary, there must be ground visible between the tire track and the tire and the tire must be on the ground on the out-of-bounds side of the track."

That is even more room, i always just avoided the rear tire path but being able to ride the previous rear tire path is a signifiant amount more room.

Y'all pay a lot more attention to the exact location of your tires than I do. I just avoid crossing my path with either tire. makes it more interesting to ride, and easier on the observer.
(I am regularly both and appreciate when riders make it a point to help my job be easier)

At a couple recent competitions, if I were to take your approach, I would have ended up having to do a lot of hopping to avoid touching either tire path.

This must be the section that Bou smoked everybody on at the last world round. His ride is just incredible.

Last weekend things just worked out and I was able to attend my 1st ever 2-day trails event. It was held in Nebraska. My plan was to ride Intermediate on Saturday afternoon, then ride Adv Amateur Sunday morning then get home. After I beat myself up on Saturday I was more than happy to ride AA on Sunday.
I had a great time! The sections, the loops, and the checking was awesome! Well organized event!

I made some video's of the rides including the kids event Saturday night.
