I thought that EVERY ride in NC involved BBQ. At least that’s been my practice.

Someone posted on one of the sites that they did what you suggested. They said they were still open, but that was a month and half ago. I just tried to call them and got a "number disconnected" message. I imagine even if they were trying to be crafty, that half or more of their business just evaporated even before the 'rona.

WTF? Totally uncalled for...Good news is they couldnt keep it to themselves and just suck it up and take the money in..You know we dont go into an establishment and demand to know the owners politics or POV..we go there for the food.....So i dont understand how they could just committ suicide and self destruct...but goodbye..good riddance...They're just not part of the big picture..never really were i guess...

No, and it's a shame. I did my bit to promote them. I liked the place. I don't give a shit what someone's politics are if they don't try to force it on me - from any side. For the asswipe to go on public forums and act like that, there has to be something fundamentally wrong with him. Like who you want or don't like who you want, but it's suicide to act like that asshat did. He didn't cut his market in half, he cut it by 97%.

To insult the very people who created bbq in the first place..and to even have a business setup in Durham goes very much against all common sense and decency..

What was the actual place you gave a one star review for? Answer not required if you don’t want to.

Non food or bike related question.
I bought an antique drum. While restoring it all of the nuts that the tension rods attach to are still in good shape, just caked with years old grease. I want to clean them and lubricate them. What would you use to clean the nuts? (come on boys, I am serious no bad jokes :dirtdog)

Basically, same stuff you'd use to remove cosmoline from a stored weapon (what cosmoline recommends)

    https://www.originalcosmoline.com/s...ove-cosmoline-from-military-surplus-firearms/
    • hot water and dish soap
    • kerosene
    • mineral spirits
    • acetone
Could also mix up a batch of home made "Ed's Red" cleaner and solvent... (it's a mix of some of those):

    http://frfrogspad.com/homemade.htm

For caked on grease, I use kerosene, followed by whatever degreaser (citrus or dishsoap and water). it's easy stuff to find. Soak them in some of that, and then you wipe off most of the gunk then clean it with whatever you want to get rid of the kerosene. Did that with the garage door opener chain that had caked on grease that was 15 years old. Chain was so stiff it wouldn't really bend or flex anymore (you could hold it horizontally and 3 feet or more would not even start to bend... haha!) soaked it overnight in kerosene, rinsed it with citrus degreaser.... all links moved freely after that (had to readjust the settings on the door opener way back since it didn't have to overcome that force anymore to open/close).
