Last night I watched the local nightly news. The weather person stated at RDU officially there was 1.67 inches of rain since it started on Tuesday. Now I know there are differences between Raleigh weather and Hillsborough, but wow. My rain started Monday and my rain gauge last night was over 4 inches. This AM when I checked it was overflowing above 5 inches. So do they actually average out between the coast and their western most area? I mean, how could they be so far off otherwise? Sure, it would be tough to say the western area gets X amount of rain, locally around R town we got Y amount of rain and along the coast they got K amount of rain. But heck if they show a picture of their viewing area temperatures and feel the need to recite every temp, they should at least clarify rain totals.
    Okay, enough of my rant.

I thought maybe they'd have something on their website showing rainfall in different areas. I found this map. Rainfall since when? The past 24 hours? The past week? The past minute? Who knows...

The short answer is No they dont..They just report totals from where ever they have their rain gauges set up...We have had much less than 2" total here...since monday

Weather guessers..most of them are just reciting the national weather service babble..no real creativity with weather data or its presentation...Not even sure they utilize local viewers weather reports..that would help accuracy....

I'm sure the rainfall amounts are different between my house and my office that's 4 miles away. The temperature too.

There was some question as to whether Johnson's Family Barbecue actually closed or was just trying to hide under the radar until asshole Wayne's latest verbal eruptions blew over. Drove by there today and this sign is out front:

Can't find any info on them and I *think* they were a grill in that same strip previously. Didn't feel like going in. Just a hunch, but have a feeling they'll have below average food at above average prices and end up being just another hole in the wall within a year.

Speaking of slogs..or actually trying to avoid one..I am already planning a trip to Colorado..in july of next year. My route will not involve any interstates and its still a pretty straight shot from here..More details will be forthcoming..but dang.. i'm already planning a western foray and i havent even got the bike yet..
What else is there to do?
