    Hi there fellow Advriders !

On my Rally KTM is mounted such a horribe TRIOM 2x35W headlight ... As I may want to participate at the Hardalpitour, I definately need better headlights ! Can anybody of you may recommend me a good solution, that will fit with just little adjustments ? It should be a double LED headlight, I know there are some nice products from the rally scene ... but which one to take ?

This is what I did with my 640.......a 60mm Hella HID and a Baja Designs Squadron Pro......it was quite a bit of work for the install, but well worth it.

Ok, I´ll have a look for them.
The original Adventure lens headlight is not bad at all ... are you new headlights much better ?

Lyndon Poskitt has also mounted the Baja Squadron and Hella HID on his bike. I will have a look, Hella for low beam and the other for high beam ...

    Why

One squadron is a LOT of light.

But if you feel the need for 2.

Baja design makes a race dual squadron kit too

From my experience. ..one squadron WITH a high output helmet light is the way to go.

Off road helmet lights + bike mount light.....no question works better than any bike mount only light (s)

Off road best is to have both

I don´t think the Squadron is legal as a low beam, is it ?
The Hella would be for a DOT approved low beam in normal Traffic.

I need two lights anyway for my 660 RR. But I could also use one of my broken TRIOM headlights (one glass gone) and insert the Squadron on the other side ...

    Hi

Check your headlight, do you see a DOT stamp on it ?

Bet, you could not find one.

I run the squadron XL as my sole light on my street legal ktm. I use a dimmer, and have it aimed down....it still throws light a LONG ways down the road, and is very wide.

Dimmer is set to 70% power for low beam, and 100% for high beam....toggles back and forth with my my standard high/low, turn, horn switch.

Also keep in mind the squadron light encompasses multiple models, and there are big weight, size, light output and light pattern differences between models.

I run the XL, it is the biggest, heaviest, and has the highest light output, with 3 different light pattern lens standard ....long range, wide, and combo.....I run the combo lens, works GREAT.

It would be nice have a DOT light pattern, but it is not needed.

As many DOT lights, do not have a DOT stamp...how can a cop tell the difference?

My lights habe various marks like "E13" and other E-Numbers. This is mandatory in germany / europe :(
That´s why I just can use the other lights as addition.

    Martin;

My headlights are spectacular........I can now run at 100kmh and actually see far down the road.

I went this route for a couple of reasons......

-Hella low beam is DOT. 35W HID
    -Squadron is not DOT
    - Both high and low beam on at the same time.
    - Lights draw 77W on high beam
-Wanted to run a 2 light system.....if you just run one squadron as suggested and it quits, you have no light at all. Rare, but it has happened.
    - Hella bulb easy to replace
-You can dim the Squadron, but the light pattern can still be blinding for oncoming traffic

Don't get me wrong, the Squadron is a fantastic light and certainly has it's place. One of the reasons I chose this system is that Britannia Composites uses the same set up and he is very close to me, so I was able to pick up the lights and a wire harness that made installation simple.

    Hope this helps.
