I need to make it down to that round barn. Great pictures.
The round barn is now on my to do list. Interesting stuff!
The Round Barn stories are really interesting, I thinks... the area is fun to visit..
I will work up the next segment of the story... The Abert Rim..
Im off for a liitle fresh air in the head.. heading up the 'Joe to fish and camp for a couple days... film at 11 !
I wish I was going to be around this weekend, I'd try and meet you somewhere along the St Joe. I'm only about an hour + from St Marie and I love that road. I was fishing on the NF CDA last Monday, fish are small but lots of them. Good luck!
Duanob... sorry it didnt work out this time... maybe we can get a ride in yet !
I managed to escape last Thursday by late morning.. The weatrher was nice and cool which made for a nice ride.. eventho i have ridden this route numerous times i never get tired of it. this is why:

Yea yea ! The bigger ones are yet to come !
Over the last couple years I've done the Wallowa Mountain Loop and the St. Joes Scenic Byway based on your posts. Thanks for the good advice.
Hey glad to hear this barnstormer... if you get a chance to come this way again gimme a holler!
Here are a few pics from last weekends meanderings.. can you guess where these are?
Again, lovin the pics! Made me go down in the basement and look longingly at my old fly rod.
Thanks Sir Admiral ! The weather has really been cooperating, nice to be able to take advantage a bit...
Thanks Pops ! We got organized this spring and have been able to do a bit of fishing this year,,, when digging through the musty tackle box i found my last license was froma a few years ago, needless to say i had to freshen things up just abit.
Planned to go to Elk City in June and stay at the Red River Hot Springs. Maybe next year...
With all the forest fire smoke of the last 8 days or so mostly kindof cleared up me and my Lewiston riding buddy thought it prudent to try and get in one more good road bike romp down into eastern and central oregon.. that is just flat some of the best riding to be had as far as i am concernd, and this riding season is rapidly drawing to a close. Especially in the higher country. Not a long trip... maybe a couple nights in cheap flea bag hotels. Of course covid proof cheap flea bags hotels.. ha ha.. So i readied the viffer and set off for Lewiston on a Thursday afternoon.
After a mellow cruise southbound on Hwy 95 i arrived at the top of the spiral hwy where i have stopped on many occasions to take in the incredible Clearwater / Snake River valley view. Today it was still so hazy in the valley there was no point in taking a picture, so you will just have to squint ur eyes and use ur imagination! Regardless the view was still cool. Ben met me atop the grade on his KLX and we had fun bombing down the grade of the spiral hwy and back to his place for the evening.
My anxiety was raised up though as i had to bump start the viffer at the top of the hill.. maybe i left the key on for too long..., maybe that old battery was about done..?? The viffer has never not started.. Down in the outback of eastern oregon is no place for a bike that might not start... I was fretting.. ugh.
