what fuel consumption and fuel range do you get?
I'm getting 42-44 mpg (us). 1,600 miles, average speed is around 60, all paved rural roads, driving habits moderate, tailbag only on the rear.
Taking a road trip this week, will see what effect higher speeds and luggage have.
40 at 80 mph and 48-49 at 60mph. This was two up with luggage.
I'm getting 46 mpg averaging around 65 mph. Haven't pushed it past 200 miles on a tank.
imperial or us gallons you guys??

That would be US gallons.
Yesterday's ride states:
Distance: 192 miles
Ave MPG: 46.2
Ave MPH: 34.2
Filled up as I stopped for a pee, but distance to empty was still 26 miles according to the computer.
I am a conservative rider, and have yet to see 48-49 mpg. Pretty much 42-44 for me, US gallons. I was riding with two FJR1300s last Saturday and we all got the same mileage. I was thinking, they have 500 more c.c.s and 35 more hp, I should be doing better. I am now running full synthetic with the odometer at 900+ miles, but have not noticed any change. The weekend before I was riding with a Dyna and Street Glide, both got better mileage than me.

well, according to the computer, I noticed the following consumptions:
50mph ~ 70mpg
60mph ~ 64mpg
70mph ~ 54mpg
80mph ~ 38mpg
Was doing some "testing" on the highway home. Sat at each speed for about a minute or two.
The wind has been fairly gusty in Louisisna with all these fronts moving through. I have noticed a difference in mpg depending on wind direction, but again even with the wind nothing close to 49 mpg. Heck, I'd have to be riding with the Rebel 250 Owners Association to get that.
On my test ride, Tiger 800, I set the computer to read instant MPG (US). At 6th gear, 65mph, maintaining the wrist "locked" it read anywhere between 40-42mph. Calm winds. The only time I saw 70mpg was on deceleration as in slowing down without going through the gears.
Only had mine for three days and 228 miles. Last fill up was 3.3 gal (US) after 150 miles, or 45.5mpg.

That's similar consumption to my Fazer 1000 and Weestrom, so the consumption itself is ok... just about.
But the pita is the tank capacity; really, at 19L/4.2 imp/5 US that's at least 3L too small for a decent range considering the bike's target customers.
Triumph could have put the ignition in front of the steering head, gained 2L that way, and made the tank slightly bigger all round with no cosmetic penalty.
Shesh, UK and US gallons must be vastly different :huh
Just googled, shesh, they are. 1.2 US : 1 Imperial
So, all in all, probably about right.

i guess 5.5lt/100km is about the average, which is quite good.
i am surprised though, that some get 6+lt/100km for speeds at around 60mph...
If the new Tiger 800 computer is anything like previous Triumph's then I would take MPG (kms per liter) readings and countdown figures with a grain of salt.
My 1050 Tiger fuel gauge is way off and so is the computer. I believe the Tiger 800 also has the digital countdown reading once you get into the reserve zone, right? Happy to say my 1050 Tiger errs on the conservative side.
I've ridden it way past the Zero reading (countdown) several times. Also, ridden over 60 miles with the yellow warning light on. I've not run out yet .... but I plan to soon! Here's How To Do It:
A good test to know your true range is to carry a little two gallon gas can with you and just run your bike until empty. (stay off freeways! :eek1)
Make Notes Along The Way
This will help give an idea of what the yellow light means and how far you can really go past the zero countdown or yellow light. Typically, if I fill up when the light comes on, my capacity tells me I still had a gallon and a half (US) left in the tank. (about 65 miles worth ... or more)
When checking MPG be sure to fill up the tank to the exact point each time. Be consistent. And do the math correctly please! Center stand vs. side stand will change you MPG calculation.
