tuckers motel and mooch tour

Finished the slider Sunday evening.

Leaving this Monday morning. No more mooching off Bob and FRANCIE. Destination Alamosa Colorado tonight....not far as we are not leaving Elizabeth Colorado until 1pm.

From your left: Bob, FRANCIE, my Mrs Colleen, me, Bobs son Elijah and his Mrs. Bob (ROBERT Frane) has terminal cancer....this was maybe the last rally he could muster to do some work on the house..he has gotten quite weak. Nevertheless he leaves for work each morning at 5 or 6 am....he loves his work. He has come back from his illness a couple of times......there is a possibility he could come back strong again....you never know with ROBERT. Anyway I just wanted to help as much as I could on deferred projects at the Ranch. Actually I lead and he helped me, fetching tools and such. Such a lovely man.

ROBERT and Colleen. Best friends and brother and sister. Colleen used to change Roberts diapers when he was a baby. They are from a family of 13 children.

Me and ROBERT taking it easy Sunday night before dinner. After working four days on house projects. I wish we could stay another week but our own home beckons....as it’s pretty high maintenance we have some International students renting rooms as they attend the Claremont Colleges Consortium.

Packing the bikes for the off. Wish I had another week I would clad the front of the house. Anybody wants to nip over there and put a day in would garner you a years worth of Karma.

ROBERT has given up riding for the moment. He yearns for it.

Tally for the day: $21.56 gasoline. $14 Two Subway salads. $70 Riverside Inn Alamosa Colorado Cute motel. Single story. Park outside your room. Clean. Re-furnished. Walk to a few things. Eats/drinks/more. Easy in easy out.

Elizabeth Colorado to Alamosa Colorado. Four and half hour with lunch/gas stop. 25 freeway south after Colorado Springs mainly 80 mph and clear. 160 west all clear, some 80 mph stretches a few 40mph towns. Very pleasant, not challenging, easy bends, easy passing, pretty scenery. Lots of old farms, rusty old cars...I like it.

AM/FM radio/alarm in every room.

En Suite European style bathroom, no need to go outside.

This place is awesome.

Just Alamosa Colorado to Cortez Colorado today. Stopped in a Durango gas station for coffee and chocolate muffin. Rode 160 west. Quite pleasant and super nice in the Wolf Creek area. Outstanding autumn colors and leaves starting to fall.

Today’s tally: $20.01 first fuel stop $14.86 second fuel stop. $16.49 coffee and snacks. $55.17 motel room. $42 Mexican restaurant
