Hoping someone here knows of a recently totaled 1290R out of the Tucson area. Looking for info about the bike. PM or answer here would be great.

No, it's a 2018. Apparently crashed due to animal impact, based on the hair found lodged in the front tire bead. My buddy bought the bike at a Tucson insurance auction. Bike has SW Motech aluminum panniers and a Tourtech top case, but there was no key found. There are Baja, Banameche Mexico, and Ouray stickers on the panniers, maybe that might ring a bell? Accident occurred in late April. It would be nice to get a back story and maybe keys to the cases. The bike may have been crashed in Mexico and not local to Tucson, eventually finding it's way to the closest auction location? Pretty much a long shot to find info at this point but figured I'd try to help him out.

There are dirt roads to the West just after you pass Winkelman you can get all the way to Globe on them...don't know anything of roads east. Mostly people camp next to the river there.

Take a look at the area that I pointed out with the arrow. It starts out as a dirt road then single track, then nothing. someone must have bushwacked in with a camera!

I wish they would have filmed the roads going north to Pioneer Pass, would have saved me from getting my bike stuck there trying to go south from Pioneer Pass last Thursday.

I have seen windmills and barns down in that valley so I am guessing there is a road system but I always assumed it was private land.

The dirt road going up to pioneer pass on the BDR was AWESOME when we did it last year.

If you look at the shadows in some of the images, you can see that a g00gle camera was taken in by backpack.
They hiked quite a way back in there and captured some climbers up close.

I agree, but I was on a stock NC700x with no bash plate and pure street tires. Almost made it, got stuck and exhausted about a mile or 2 south of the crow canyon ranch.

I salute you. I wouldn't have wanted to try that hill with that kind of setup.
The owner of some of that land is a real character. He was kind enough to inform us that the gates are all closed, the neighbors a little ansi about "visitors", and there's no way through. We thanked him for the intel, rode up the hill and camped in Pioneer Pass without incident.

I got tricked by coming from Globe...the road is very nice until about 2 miles past the campground where I camped overnight.

I don't know what the time frame is you are talking about, but I have heard recently that "character" has either passed or moved out. You can get through there now. Back in 2012 we bypassed the locked gate and went up a gnarly road that has some serious consequences for a 990 ADV, BMW HP2 which we were on. Once we got through that short stretch the trees at the top were a real surprise.

Saturday 7AM: Last stop Circle K on Redington. Backside of Mt. Lemmon including a Three Feathers loop (we won't go all the way to Chiva) and the single track across the road over Redington to the gas line, gas line to the road that connects just above Pepper Sauce. Lunch at the Sawmill and then down the front side. All are welcome who think they can do the described.

I think it was last year. We never encountered a locked gate.

I work Saturday, but if I were to do that loop that's the way I'd do it!
