Hey guys. I’m bringing my Phoenix people down to do a three day ride around the southern part of the state. I’m looking for ideas for parking our trucks where they will be safe. The Oracle area would be ideal but northern metro Tucson would work too. Hotel parking lot will be my default but I’m hoping for something a little more secure

Sorta... its the XC-F... it’s got the SX motor, larger throttle body, and rear linkage, but with the wider 6-spd tranny and revs to the moon. It’s as fast as my 500 EXC from mid range to top end. Crazy fast 350.

Does anyone know if there is a connecting road from Catalina west to the area ~around the Marana Rd exit of I-10? From Catalina there are "roads" going west of which, at least according to GM, Cochise Springs Rd seems to extend of the furthest west. On the east side from Marana rd I believe Carpenter Ranch Rd goes the furthest east, but for both of these roads the identification disappears on GM at some point. Not sure if there is private land that impassable at some point. Was hoping there is a reasonably well traveled route between these two points, does anyone having any knowledge about this area? I've ridden the dirt roads from Marana Rd up to Park Link via Owls Head but that is the extent of my experience in this area.

There used to be a route that went from Rail X (there is a dirt road right in the middle of Catalina that takes you into Rail X, you had to go North from the power sub station off 79) through a gap in the Tortolitas which dropped you down to the North West side of the Tortolitas North of Dove Mountain and would drop you onto Owl Head and you take Owl head all the way to the Marana Exit. However, I have heard someone built a big home back there and fenced that area off. Been a long time since I was back there. There was also a power line trail that took you all the way down to Owl Head.

Let me know if you will be around tomorrow...we don't have to do the Garter...somewhere close to where you are staying.

I'm around every day now. I had enough of that Texas BS and moved back to Tucson last weekend.

I'm in a rental two blocks north of the RG.

I know a guy who can set you up. He’s kind of shady but he has top quality, real milk crates. No knockoffs
