    02/07 Steele Creek Camping (36.041331, -93.345455)

02/08 Low Gap for breakfast and backroads back to Tulsa.

I was there two weeks ago.
Road from 23 to Shores lake is closed due to a bridge out. Campground at shores lake is closed. Only way to get there from pig trail is via White Rock Mountain Rd.

Nope, its open, the park ranger said the waters is turned off.

Thanks for the info on the bridge. We were planning on going to 23 via White Rock and Fang Creek.

Ok. The area by the lake had the road to the campground closed. The sign on the gate read "Closed for the season" or something like that. Plenty of primitive camping spots in the woods above the lake.
I might join u for a day on Saturday if I stop hacking my lungs out and manage to control my leaky nose.

Thinking about it, but I have to work until 5 on Friday. I was thinking about heading straight to Shore Lake, but if the roads are fubar, I'm not sure I want to be searching for a go-around after dark. I might head that way Saturday morning. The most important thing would be hitting Oark for a burger and pie :deal

Maybe I'll meet you there at lunch time. Any idea of when you're wanting to hit Oark?

Shores Lake is pretty easy to find in the dark, slab the whole way, I think Rick managed it once in the dark and he doesn't even own a GPS.

We will probably depart Shores Lake around 9am head to Oark via WhiteRock Mountain where we will stop for a bit to site see. I am guessing 11:30, maybe later, due to a newbie fire road rider.

Just text me your ETA and we can wait at either place.

I have some prep work to do to the new bike and not much time to get it done. I'm going to plan on being at Oark between 11-11:30 on Saturday. I'll just wait for you there.

I'll text you if anything changes and will expect you to do the same from your end if something catastrophic comes up :D

My wife and I were riding out around there a few weeks ago and after trying to do the right thing and respect the "road closed" signs with no success we decided to at least ride down there and see how closed it was. It appears that the bridge had been done for quite a while, but for some reason they still had it blocked with boulders so no one could use it. We decided to be outlaws and ride our motorcycles across it since I couldn't really see a good reason for it to be closed. We're total rebels though. :lol3

I'm not sure about the campground thing though- you'll have to do some digging to figure that one out. It seems like a lot of things close down around here in the winter. I'm not sure if they close down because nobody uses them or if nobody uses them because they are closed down.

Maybe we'll see you guys out on the roads!

How about 96 hours notice for a bug out? I figured most of you FF's need to make your schedule around cutting the grass and scratching your ass. I am heading out sometime Friday afternoon and will be camping un-attached around White Rock Mountain, then Saturday I will be looking for some Pie and dual sporting on my way to Haw Creek Falls for Camping.

I don't mind sharing the road and my camp fire, reply or PM(start conversation) if you need more details

So the rain is doing it's normal job of thinning out the heard. I am sticking to the plan.

    Tomorrow night (Fri 8/19):
Camping somewhere between points A & B. I will try to get camp set up before the rain hits.

    Saturday (8/20):
Wait till the rain stops in the morning and then head to Hall Creek Falls. Probably stop at Turners Bend for supplies and Oark for pie.

    Sunday (8/21):
Find some Biscuits and Gravy then go home.

Stay tough man. It may be hard to tag in the rain but I have confidence that you'll get it done.
