It was so relaxing the enviroment, that decided to stay there for 2 nights. The first night also rained and it was perfect listening the water drops on the tent. And in the morning i woke up by the sound of free horses running around.

I did a small hike the second day. In general this place is a paradise for those who love mountains. I was in Caucasus after all.....

After 2 days of relaxing, the time came for some more stessful situations, but most of the times along comes beauty, at least when we are talking about adventure riding.

The weather for the next two days was going to be perfect, and decided to visit another place i was really looking forword. The Tusheti region, and Omalo. It must be one of the most remote areas in Georgia, and getting there is a challenge on its own, having to ride over the Abano pass, with an elevation of 2860 meters.

Before reaching the Georgian military highway again so i can go south-east, Juta valley offered me one last sensational view.

So, the road is not something much different, from what i have done many times in Greece, it is just in bigger scale, everything is ..."more". Sooooooo many hairpins, as you have to go up from around 500m altitude to 2860, then down to 1700, and up again to 2000m. Massive drops keep you alert all the time, and when i say all the time , i mean ALL the time. This situation with the mud sometimes, loose rocks, and the 4x4 cars that again dont pay attention, make this part very dangerous and very tiring. As i said not something extreme technical but mentally very very stressful.

A section of the road was full memorials of people that died on this road. It made me more stressful.

It took me around 5 hours to do 70 kms, deu to many stops for photographs, or just enjoy the view. Also the average speed was very low anyway. So i reached Omalo somewhere around 4 pm. I didnt stop there, I had heared from other riders that Upper Omalo is better, so i went there to find a place to sleep. Upper Omalo was very beautiful, and surprisingly was full of guesthouses. its not a long time since all the villages in this area started to have many tourists. But last years it seems that a lot of people come here. Motorcyclists , hikers, cyclists or just typical tourists. And because of that the locals have turned all their old houses, into guesthouses, with their old traditional style. So it wasnt very difficult to find a room .

    Upper Omalo.

In the center of the village you will not find a squear with a cafe, tables , or a tree. You will see this...........

Maybe its a sign of what it takes to get there. Of course everywhere you will find also this......

My guesthouse was very nice. in the price was also dinner and breakfast. It had 3 or 4 different blocks and a small tower, a place to eat and a small cafe. The only bad thing is that in my room i had no electrical outlet. No problem though, i had the power bank.
