Vic, I've deleted my original post to get your info near the top of this thread.
    Here are Vic's comments:

Many have asked so here it is.

This thread will give information on an upcoming unofficial ride across the Eglin AFB Reservation for lunch in Niceville and then returning for what we are calling the 2nd Annual Turkey Trot.

    Date: November 20, 2010
Location: Broxson's Landing on HW 87 - North of Holly and at the south end of the long Bridge.
    30 34 05 39 N
    86 55 23 33 W

    General Rules:
    1. Must have steet legal and tagged MC with valid DL. A given.
    2. Current and valid Eglin Permit obtained from Jackson Guard, Please dont ask to ride if you dont have a permit. We cannot stop anyone but we have an agreement with the Range Patrol and we dont ride with folks unless they have their permits. Riding without permits will HURT us and future rides like this one.
    3. Frankly this is a dirt bike type ride and larger bikes will not enjoy the route. There are bypass routes if you want to join up at certain areas.
    4. Route charts and maps will be given out to group leaders.
    5. Small groups are recommended with ralley points along the way to meet and greet.
    6. There is no charge since this is a non event. You pay nothing so the whole experience (what ever that may turn out to be) is PRICELESS!
    7. Bring your Eglin maps with you for cross reference to Route sheet

See map below for general route. Red is Jeep Road (somewhat challanging) and Yellow is easy improved road stuff mainly to get from one section to another. There is very little pavement involved in this ride.

Ride is approximately 100 miles long. Gas range should be about 55 to 60 miles.

A support truck may be available to carry gas and extra food etc to meet points.

See Pensacola Area Riders thread for more background and lots more BS.

vic what can i do to help? i know this has grown into big deal and i realize that it will require alot more pre-planning than we first realized.
having said that i will go /do what ever is needed to help you make this a fun event for all as well as for you.
sometimes the planners end up overwhelmed by details and are not allowed to enjoy the very thing they planned.
    i am at your disposal.

I'm in for the slow/n00b group. I've ridden Eglin a handful of times with Mug and inpet and am looking forward to this ride.

We should use this thread to find out who our ride "buddy" will be. As mentioned in the other thread we should pair up in case something happens and someone needs to stay behind.

I'm buddy free :cry Anyone want to be my friend :freaky

Count me in to Vic! I don't plan on riding this ride at our normal pace. Heck if MItrnsplt doesn't have is bike ready he can use my truck for support and will swap out at the halfway point. He could use a big swig of orange kool-aid!

Hey Steve you can ride with me, as long as ya don't mind being at the tail end of the Slow Group. I was planning on riding behind Buzztail, but I need somebody to deflect the roost from that new Trakmaster he just mounted:lol3
