Congrats on the Grand Papa
Rich, heal up quick man! Hate to hear of anyone getting hurt.
Thanks to all who put this together and attended, I met a lot of new folks and its hard to keep them all straight. I would have offered to help clean the place up, but I had a very long ride home with no idea how bad the weather would be. Arrived at home in Ocala about an hour ago, so 8 hrs total. Didn't hit any bad rain until the last hour or so, that was nice.
No rain at camp all weekend, packed up a dry tent this morning. I think that was a first, except for the desert camping I did a couple of years ago.
Thanks to all who put forth the time and effort to make this event happen. And to the cooks, Thanks! Awesome place and great company. Really enjoyed the conversations and wisdom. Nice to be around smart folks. Thoughts are with those that need healing.
Thanks Madhouse for leading us around and Allaces for the electrical spray. The laying of hands and cleaning warn't enough tho. To the dealer she goes. And thanks to ineptizoid for letting me ride the coolest klr ever. Got home and took old blue for a spin, looks like she's going to the mountains this week instead. Personality. Looking forward to seeing ya'll down the road.
Here's the upcoming MS rally .. October 24. If any interested.
Thanks to Single Track Jeff and Anita for cooking for the gang on Saturday night. Great grilled spicy shrimp.
Finally - when I left the place looked great but STJ and Allaces were still cleaning and policing the area.
Thanks to all for making Turkey Trot VI a great success.
Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recover to our only WIA, Kaosrider. He now has matching broken collar bones.... the mark of a true woodsrider.
After the clean up we had MadMax400 (now 450!) and Fritz(?) show up for the sunday ride. They wanted about a 50-60 miler so we headed out with OG and I following a few different old tracks to try and tie them together. We found a lil of every thing BW had to offer...SAND, some pretty deep water, washouts, gravel, SAND, a lil bit of single track and finished with such a small sprinkle of rain the last 3miles. Finished up at about 63miles. Packed up the scoots, headed to Gators for some food, Malts and the drive home.
What a great weekend! Thanks again to everyone that made it possible and for everyone that showed up. Wish that shitty weather forecast hadnt scared off so many. But we still had a great turn out!!
Yeah, that was the 2nd worst weather forecast in the history of weather. Just goes to show that you never know. The cloud cover kept the temps perfect for street riding.
I just thought of something, I don't have any insect bites on me, and didn't use repellant. Another first, normally I am all bitten up and itch for a week!
I guess the weather turned the corner, eh?
Yeah, when I was almost home it let loose.
You used coolest and KLR in the same sentence, now that right there is comical. I tell ya what tho, yer Strom cranks out 10X the HP of the KLR even when it's throwin a fault code
Ya know it's just like the Maestro said, those weather people are only right 50% of the time anyway, so ya might as well roll the dice. OrangeGarrett said all weather forecasters are dicksmacks, and should never be believed...he just may be right
Same for me--didn't use any repellant, and ended up with one fire ant bite on my hand. That was from when I fell outta the hammock, so that's my fault. Actually it's prolly Phil's fault; he fell outta his, and I was laughing so hard I fell outta mine. Took me a while to get up
Those hammocks in the pavilion are comfortable, but they get a little tricky after you've released the Kraken
You could say that! We kept waiting for SDH to bring his delightful little rain gauge, but he never showed up, and there wasn't any rain to gauge anyway. Weather was perfect!
Thanks for leading us today Allaces! Had a great time, sore butt and all. And yes I checked my suspension, it was all fine. Need to install my GPR and get a nice seat. Seat concepts here I come.
Till next time gents.

Glad y'all had a Good time. Maybe one Day I can start attending again when I get the Restaurant going.
I love that it's so easy to find me in the video - Always at the back! Do I get "Unofficial Sweep Rider" credit?
Thanks to all of you who put the ride together. It was great meeting all y'all.
I can see that it's gonna take some time for me to break the habits of 50 years of riding in order to get this sand riding thing under control. I guess I just have to keep repeating to myself "When sideways, crank some throttle ON". Only time will tell if this old dog can learn new tricks.
Glad you could make it. Join us again.
Sorry you couldn't make it. Let us know about the restaurant and good luck with it...
Holy crap, that looks like an awesome setup for base camp! Rivals the big adv fests out west!
Want to say thanks to everyone. This was my first ADV event and I had a great time. Look forward to doing it again next year........in the meantime I hope to get the chance to ride with some of you again soon!
It was hard to keep all the names and faces together........surely the buzz I had going Friday night didn't help things!
Thanks again guys.........your hospitality was great and all the hardwork setting this thing up was no small task! Well Done!
It was indeed awesome...never been to one of those big adv fests out west you referenced, but I can tell ya this: it rivaled DeWalt's place in Gloster MS where the Beast Feast was held for several years, and buddy that's sayin something.
Hope it works out again for us next year!
