The natives are beginning to get restless so let's kick this thing off. First order of business, Date of the Event. Who wants to set up a survey?

The thread starter can create a “pole” as it’s called around here.
I’m in no matter when, but I think we all prefer cooler weather and should take into consideration hunting seasons.

    Soooo dates?

How about the third weekend in October....Barbers is always the second weekend.

IMO we should go with the weekend before or after Barbers and keep it there for all eternity :lol3...that should keep us out of the woods with the hunters and be cool enough but not too cold.

Archery Season starts October 26 (4th weekend in October).

Anybody know of a reason why the first or third weekend in October would not be a good idea?

Third weekend in October is best in my opinion.

You don’t want to compete with Barbers or Perry Mountains Gobble Getter enduro. Then there hunting season.

    I’m in for sure.

Just putting it out there that our CADS D/S brethren in the east are having an event too that weekend. A trans-Florida trip from Palatka to Yankeetown.

My vote is the Third weekend also. Will be at Barbers and ATL the next weekend.

I'll jump in for the 3rd weekend as well.... I prefer the cooler temps as my tarp setup is not properly air-conditioned. :snore

YJake pointed out Barbers this year is the first weekend in October...wow, so much for consistency :lol3.

OK, my recommendation for the Trot is the 3rd weekend in Oct...and forever more it should remain on that weekend at least for one year :jack.

It's a good excuse to: ride good trails during the day, eat good food at night, drink the good stuff, smoke the good stuff (I mean ceegars), meet and greet fun folk, hear and tell tall tales around a campfire and generally just have a good time! At least that's how I would describe it. Peace,, out...

Lots of good folks in the woods camping, riding, and feasting for several days.

    About sums it up!

Always good people at these events. Like minded and like riding abilities for everyone. Some you’ll look forward to seeing again. Others, memories will haunt you for eternity.
