    I paraphrase from another post

Wife says “ After 50 a man should NOT be allowed to buy a motorcycle. I mean really, isn’t 50 motorcycles enough.

    Gang,

For those with GPS's, here are the tracks. There is something for everyone from 200 miles of nothing but pavement, to a short 30 miles of woods. Thanks to the folks at Northwest Florida Enduro Riders website for such a fine depository. https://www.nwfer.group/trax We got some rain this morning in Midway, I bet they got the same up in the woods. We're less than a month out. Here's to some cooler temps coming later this week.

Went to the forest yesterday morning to check another track. Great time, track is clean. The recent rains were good, dust is gone, even have some mud holes.

With the countdown on, I'd suggest putting some eyeballs on your scooter for anything that might cause trouble at the event. We'll have riders with tools, tow-straps, and first-aid kits but it would be nice to get minimal use out of them. If moto-maintenance isn't something you do regularly, here are some items to give a good looksie:

Chain: I just replaced mine. It was worn pretty bad and the original since 2015. My new chain didn't come with an extra master-link, I guess they don't, but having one on your person is a good idea.

Battery: I'm headed to Cycle Gear to pick me up a new one. Again, current is from 2015 and has been giving me some itshoos lately. If yours has too, it might be a good investment. The cooler weather will put an added strain on a weak battery.

    Tires: pretty self-explanatory.

Air filter: a few years back, a fellow joined us at Eglin and had some starting issues. Trouble-shooting, he pulled a side cover to reveal his air filter...a ratty old, torn t-shirt. Never saw that before, or since. If you're gonna use a t-shirt as an air filter, I guess you should change it out every once in a while.

Anyone else have any thoughts or suggestions for the good of the group?

Saturday riding on Eglin was DUST FREE! Hoping for a little rain a day or two before the Trot.

Good tips Easyrider, and I just put another order in to RMATV for a few maintenance bits and then some. I think they know me by my first name now.

I'm just unloading some stuff I don't need anymore, not looking to retire on the proceeds so if you think something is too high priced, make an offer, I'm sure we can work something out.

Helmets dont seem to sell very well but I have a couple I'll sell for about 20 cents on the dollar, AGV, Arai, 6D, Shoei.

Also, on the top shelf is a 18" rear wheel and tire, all good except hub cracked on ride back to truck after wheel bearings went out. KTM/Husky. $20

Thanks for any interest, see ya'll at the trot!
