    I've got a 78 XL125.
I don't need anything fancy, but my totally blown shocks are ridiculous...even for just around the farm.
Any suggestions for a decent replacement?

Bear in mind that this bike is probably worth $400.

    Didn't know they were rebuildable.
It's one of the very few things I've never done to a motorcycle.
    I ain't a-scared to try, though!

Several years back there used to be some Chinese rip-offs of 12/13/14 series Progressive shocks on EBay. One of my vintage-racing buddies put a set on his Elsinore practice bike. Seemed to be ok. Might be worth a look.
