Rode to Club Congress in Tucson tonight and waitstaff gave me grief about having my helmet in their establishment. They said I could hit someone with my helmet. ???. I could set my helmet with the check in desk. This was unacceptable to me, so I left. Good thing My knife was in my pocket. Never going back there again. Not biker friendly.:fyyff

I usually ride solo and have not come across this yet.
Reminds me of the story about teaching kids to shoot guns. "But your equipping them to become violent killers." "Well, your equipped to be a prostitute. But you aren't one, are you?"
I also have fists and feet, to hit and kick people with. Doesn't mean I will.
I have a penis, doesn't mean I will grab the next women to take on a ride.

    I would have left also.

I tend not to leave my helmet out of my sight if it isn't locked up. You never know if it will still be there when you get back-

That's a first, I would have done the same and left.

This happenned to a friend of mine, we went to a club, I locked my helmet in my top case, he carried his in and had to check it, got it back and it had a HUGE scratch in the top, looked it had been dropped. Of course nobody saw anything, and he had to keep a screwed up helmet. I'd have left, if I were in your position too, I don't trust anybody with my helmet.

I would rather leave my helmet unsecure with my bike than check it. Most people won't touch bikes and gear. When you check it you already have a stranger touching your gear.

Why not say something like "my helmet is my life and if it gets dropped and I don't know about it, it could mean my life"?

If after that they still insist on checking, I'd leave. But explaining why you don't want to check it might mean the next m/c to come through gets the chance to enjoy the place.

Meanwhile in thier restaurant they give people knives and alchohol, how terribly irresponsible of them. They should limit it to plastic sporks and bolt all the furniture to the floor lest someone grab a chair and beat someone to death with it. :rolleyes

Shoulda told them that just because they saw Trinity take out a bunch of guards in "The Matrix" doesn't mean it can really happen in the "real world".:lol3
