Hey Sean! I remember our last trip to Mendocino was rather cold (and smoky, but hopefully that's not a recurring bummer)!

It's been raining pretty much every week since then up until a couple weeks ago. In fact it's raining down here in San Jose as I'm typing this. So while I ride the FZ around the Bay on tarmac when it's not immediately pouring - I wasn't feeling like taking out the KTM for long trips into the woods and whatnot... we also had a rather couple weeks at work in March...

However - the days are finally getting warmer, drier, and longer - hence this thread revival !

But what's that about surgery, man? :-( What happened?

    Hi Folks

There is a KLR650 rider/ relay happening now in your zone ,to commemorate the 31 production years that ended in 2018.

The relay just arrived in CA from the Copper state and is making its way from Lakewood to Sacramento . Once CA is spanned ... the tamer is swinging back east across Nevada to Bountiful, Utah area.

If you are in the described path and would like to enter/participate in or follow the relay travels {participant ride dates are decided when relay approaches your location ....between hand off and receiving riders so no definitive schedule... its about fitting the relay into your ride time } check out the interactive map HERE .

    regards :beer

Hey @Shodan2 , I am in Redondo Beach and looking for opportunities to get out and ride, do an overnight or whatever. Let me know if you want to plan something. I am going to the track this weekend, but the following I should be free.

I'm in Marin and typically down for moto camping on the random weekends. I'm typically fast in on the pavement and slow in the dirt.

I might go for motocamping in southern Sequoia N.F., or Los Padres N.F. this upcoming weekend (Aug 24-25). No plans for the one after that (Aug 31 - Sept. 1) just yet. Shoot me an IM to plan something

Just made the move from east (NH) to west (San Fran area) and would love to get out for a ride and do some camping. Am free next weekend (7th 8th) and don’t know the area so am up for anything, although I am itching to go eastwards and check out the mountains. Disperse camping is good and can do 200-400 miles in a day on paved, dirt and maybe even a little snow.
    Cheers!

Hey guys. Been a member for a while, but there is so much content here I get lost for a while. I moved up to Sacramento a while back (2 yrs) and I moto-camp quite a bit over in and around El Dorado County. I usually ride my KTM 790 Adv R now that I have it, but I also take my 500 exc sometimes depending on the type of riding. My brother in law and I vary between stealth camping and just going to a campsite depending on what we want to do. Anyway, it'd be nice to meet up with others with similar interests sometime.

Send me a PM if you want to get in touch.
