Yep..."you" don't have to worry, because"they" will definitely find you!
260 mile solo ride on the UPAT East from Marquette, to Autrain, Munising, Grand Marais, almost to White Fish Point. 9 + hours in the saddle.
My brother Peter and I rode the Penokee (my side of the border) and Goegebic (your side of the border) Ranges this week. We experienced the usual, … a few 'Road Closed' and 'Bridge Out' warnings, the gravel at the this end of the UP and NW Wisconsin is rather larger than we prefer (aren't we fussy?) The views from Little Girl Point on Lake Superior just north of Ironwood were fantastic! One can see the Porcupine Mts. to the east and the Apostle Islands to the west. The woods are endless. It is hard to believe that 120 years ago they were all cut over.
KTM store in Escanaba.
And in a related story, Marquette County Sheriff's Office investigating theft of 2 motorcycles from Race Driven Inc. They are both year 2020 and 300 XC TPI models that are fuel injected two stroke engines.
Looking for someone to do a couple of day UP trip with over the fourth of July weekend. Is anyone interested?
I wont be there until Sunday, but I'll be parking somewhere in the middle and riding for 4 days if we pass each other! I'm using a cannonshot gps route.
I am starting Wednesday afternoon and plan to be riding into Gwinn midday Sunday.
I might actually be in that area Sunday oddly enough. I'll pm you. If you see this bike stopped it's me!
Sounds good! I will be on a black drz400.
Are you parking in Gwinn or do you live in that area?
I might be changing my starting point as to have a motel the first night.
Okay I have neglected my Buell XB12X Ulysses the last couple of summers do to having and riding my other bikes. Got it out of my storage garage a few weeks ago, cleaned it up, removed the Conti Trail Attack tires and installed some new Shinko 705's 80/20 tires. Also installed some new led's up front and few other things. I've been riding it regularly for the last couple of weeks and I must say this bike still makes me SMILE and is absolutely fun to ride !!

Love that motor on the ULYSSES ... grunt time!
Used a number of the 705s over the years, worked great on many surfaces.
I like the Shinko 804/805 combo for more dirt duties, they are most excellent.
Hi there I'm coming and up from Chicago and will be spending a week with my inlaws in the stephenson MI area. Looking to escape the family for some rides. Any suggestions on which way I should point the DR?
I'm not too familiar with that area, have done some street riding through there.
Head due north....the further the better!
Try and get up north of Felch and east of Sagola. That area is loaded with forest roads. You will find miles and miles of stuff to ride.
Another plug for a UP business:
Recently had the privilege of staying there. Bob and Nicole are great hosts. Bob also has probably some of the most detailed knowledge of the all the surrounding backwoods roads and trails in the area. Really nice spot on the lake too.
Sorry I missed ya man, thanks for the contact info! I'll be coming up again maybe this fall on another bigger bike to do more UP. I posted some pictures in the other UPAT thread of my trip, what a great time. I honestly can not wait to go back.
A few of us are riding the UPAT out of Rapid River July 21st, ride the west loop, return the 25th and ride 3 more days on the west side of the east loop.
If any of you have some must see spots or would like to ride some miles and show us your neck of the woods along the route let us know!
Planning to cross the big bridge for our first visit to the UP today, working our way down to Road America for the rockerbox next weekend. Looking at tahquamenon falls, pictured rock, and seul choix lighthouse for exploring. Any other ideas that might interest my 11 year old twins?
Tumbleweed and Jeff City, see you on the road.
Stop in St. Ignace - take the boat over to Mackinaw Island.
That island is perfect for 11 year old's.
