Enjoy Aerostich! Fun place to visit and quality gear to purchase. We were there in April to be fitted. I recently purchased custom fit AD-1 pants. Best riding pants I have ever used.

    Hey, Yoopers,

My son and I were thinking of riding dual sport trails around Newberry area this week. We're both on small bikes (250 and 350). Can anyone give any updates on the condition of trails in that general area, due to all the rain that's fallen?

    Thanks,
    Bill

Went for a ride out to Point Abbey and then south east yesterday. Really nice trails/roads to the east of the point abbey peninsula. They seem to be endless and have lots of hidden gems. Multiple maintained trails let to beautiful river views.

Found out today as I went in to get some carb parts for the Valkyrie, that Leitz Honda in Sault Saint Marie Mi will be closing by the end of Nov. the Yamaha shop quit selling bikes a few years ago, but you can order parts at least, or if you want they will order a bike for you, But the Honda shop will be closed, no parts or repairs anymore, so not a single bike shop in town.

They have a few bikes left, an AT dct, 450l, 250r and a monkey bike, said they'd make a good deal on one of them, I said why would I do that, I'd have to take it 100 miles to the closest Honda dealer if I needed warranty work.

Said lack of sales for years now was the reason, I don't doubt that, this area has been in a rescission as long as I have lived here (26 years), it's sad they had a good shop and a great parts guy.

This town is really going down the ole shit hole, might as well go get me some tat's buy a Harley, smoke Pall Malls, drink Miller lite and cook up some meth.

I'm surprised we don't see more trials bikes around here. I feel like there are a bunch of areas in Sands that would be pretty fun on a trials bike, though I've never ridden one. Do you take out the gas gas very often?

I ride them mostly in the wota(Wisconsin observed trials association)series. There are some good places in sands that are fun like moon rocks and AA.Most of my practice is on a course I built on my property. Fun bikes only on super extreme terrain but not a good bike for trail riding.

Figured it's time to bump this thread back to the top....so....what has everyone been up to?

Winter is starting to get a bit long...

My buddy @Bullitt Bike came up for the weekend a couple of weeks ago, and we spent some time wrenching in my heated garage.

We changed the fork seals on the right tube on my Africa Twin. I had done the left fork last fall, as it had developed a leak. Figured a little preventative work on the right side was due. Also did an oil change, so the bike is pretty much ready to roll when/if spring hits.

We put on the factory heated grips on his 2018 Africa Twin (second attempt...don't ask...it's a long story). Did an oil change on his bike and a couple other small tasks.

We are tentatively having another wrenching weekend March 7/8. Going to add a few farkles to his new BMW S1000XR.

I still have to put a new clutch into my 2007 640 Adventure. It was starting to slip a bit last fall. I have over 22K miles on the original clutch, so I guess that's not too bad. It's probably also time for a new tire on that bike. It tends to be neglected a bit since the AT joined the stable.

I have spent a large amount of time over this winter shopping for a toy hauler travel trailer. It would be used for either of the bikes, KLR 650 or BMW K1200LT, or our mountain bike and kayaks. I also watched a bunch of YouTube videos of Trans America Trail and Backcountry Discovery Route videos. I really wish I had a heated work space to tinker with the bikes. Hoping to make that happen eventually.
