I've read a handful of memorable quotes, and I've had a few interesting questions posed to me since I bought my Ural. Please post your favorite quotes that you've read (please let us know where you found the original quote), that people have said to you, or quotes that you've thought of....

Here are my favorites thus far:

    • "Best stupid thing you've ever bought" - From somebody's thread on AdvRider
    • "What the hell is a Ural?" - From my boss
    • "I love it" - From my wife
    • "IS THAT A RUSSIAN?!?" - From an old guy screaming out the window of his pickup
    • "What year is it" - From a guy in a parking lot. My buddy immediately lied to him and said "It's a 1933". I politely corrected him that it was a 2013...

Actually, I made that one up. But for real, here's another quote. When my local BMW dealer added Ural to their showroom (this was back in like 2008) I went down to take a look. The BMW salesman knew me pretty well and, when I asked him if he thought a Ural was something I'd enjoy, he replied "Well, before I answer you, are you any good at welding?"

Most common from Russian folk I meet while on my Ural in Russian accent," Why you want piece of Sheeet?"
    Or...
"Why you want something broke when new?"

Not Ural related but reminded me of back in 1988 when I was driving my 1938 Chevy hot rod to Louisville for the Street Rod Nationals. I was driving through rural upstate NY when a car pulled up next to me. The occupants were clearly impressed with my car, smiling and giving me a thumbs up. Then the passenger rolled down his window and yelled at me, "What year is it?". I looked at him funny and replied, "What are you, Rip Van Winkle? It's 1988!" and sped off. :)

In the mid 70's I purchased a '38 Chevy from an estate in New Jersey. Took the paperwork to the tag agency in PA to get it titled. Title came back as 1983! Wish I still had that one.....
