"Buying a new Ural is like buying a brand new Model A ford, or maybe a brand new MG-A."
Except I would buy either of those 2!
"Who makes it?" Guy today at gas station.
"What year is it?" Another guy at same gas station.
"Is that 1 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive" from a guy in the liquor store parking lot who actually knew what a Ural is...
I regularly get asked that.
Some folk even tell whoever's with them that my Urals are two wheel drive.
When both of mine have the sidecar on the LEFT and the driveshaft and bevel box on the RIGHT !
Must be a special flexible driveshaft inside the swinging arm and through the sidecar chassis.
"How much ballast are ya running?"
Dunno, how about you ask my wife what she weighs......
I use to tell them that it was a 1943 BMW and they liked that response.
My 1929 BMW R25
Ogre_fl: "Wouldn't be slower than a ural, right?"
You paid How Much For That!!!
I think Teddy was talking about Ural riders here...
Too long, didn't read.
It said avago ya mug
Did you steal that plaque for ballast?
Q: What's your top speed?
A: Uphill or downhill????
Negative. The mounting bolts are SAE... the wrenches in my Ural tool roll are entirely metric.
Have a go, you mug. Said to encourage someone to do something they might otherwise wuss out of.
"It purrs like a donkey..."
Ural miles are like dog years. ~ moi
After purchasing a used Patrol from a friend, I took my wife for our inaug(ural) ride off road on some local power-lines.
About half way through a particularly rocky section, where we were bouncing around like a Mexican jumping bean, she turns to me and says:
"This is the best money we have ever spent"
God I miss that rig ...
