I nominate Nata Harli to be the unofficial disorganizer of a get-together somewhere in the middle of the US. He's going to need help- starting with an obnoxious name for whatever this might turn out to not-be. Last I heard, he wants to get lost in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Wherever it is, I promise to be late, as per normal Latin America schedules.

    Edit:
    Date:August 14-19
    Place: Glacier Basin Campground, Colorado.
    Limit: 25 riders/guests
Cost: $15/person. (PM Nata Harli for paypal info)

Read all the posts on this thread for incomplete misinformation.

EDIT: We've decided on Colorado and the date is August 14-19. Pay no attention to this map.

EDIt: Map has been removed but you can still pay no attention to it.

I was thinking somewhere in this area but I'm open to suggestions:

I think anyone from the Midwest, Southwest or West Coast could get here in a day or two.

Plenty of campgrounds in the area.

Somewhere around the end of July, maybe?

I haven't laughed this hard at an internet posting. Sure- I'll meet you in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, or South Dakota. I'll meet you on a train, in a box, with a fox, even in a tunnel.

Can you post a bigger map?

This sounds like more fun than a bunch of gringos trying to hit on a waitress in Chile with Horrible spanglish accents.

Keep me posted since I will need an excuse to escape Tejas in the summer time!

I'll be the one with the bottle of Tequila!

Later, maybe. It took me a long time to draw that one and I've got to take my new ST1100 out for a ride.

I may be tied up in July, but would enjoy uncapping a few and telling great lies along with you guys if the timing was right.

I can escape from Wisconsin the following weekends, Friday-Tuesday:

    June 6-10
    June 27-July 1
    July 25-29
Aug- anytime in August but actually planning out to August is way beyond my ability.

I think it would be great to invite wannabes, noobs, and poseurs, if it's ok with the disorganization rogues?

    Can I come? (pretty please)

If your map wasn't so specific,(and included MN) I'd suggest my cabin/hunting land for this adv rally. It would be perfect except instead of mountains we have bugs. (think of the gas you could save Bananaman:wink:)

Even if I have to drive thru the dreaded Iowa/Nebraska forest (again) I will try to make it. LETS GET IT SETUP!!!

Well, we certainly don't want to do this without Lone Rider, do we?

How does August work for you? It works for me and if we can get Bananaman's mind in gear it might work for him, too.

I just now- as in, just a few minutes ago- wrapped up (or got wrapped up in) a meeting with one of them ladies from the school- one of them ladies that encourages international travel (the gaul!) and who, just now, let my daughters (13 and 17) sign us up for a foreign exchange student for a few weeks in August. So, PLEASE, let's do this in August. I will make myself free anytime.

I can go anwhere within 1000 miles of Madison, WI.

I think that if Lone Rider is coming really far, then we should make some kind of special discouragement, or something.

I bet the Wisconsin gallery (popcorn chewers, cheese eaters, and beer brewers, and meat packers) can ride together, taking turns bringing up the rear and picking up the various motorcycle parts that fall off our unsteady steeds.

I think we need a petition to present to Barb. I'll sign it first. However- Barb might require a morning decaf mocha latte.

Allow me to whine in. I'm also coming from far and would really like to meet you guys (and Barb)
since i'm going south in 09. So I vote for the Black Hills or Red Lodge in August.

Hey Dick, when is west fest?

    This WestFest? http://www.westfest.com/

    Or, perhaps, this one? http://www.westfestchicago.com/

    Or, another one?

It looks like sometime in August and somewhere in South Dakota are what respondents so far are aiming for.

Custer State Park is a nice place and there are lots of other spots in the general vicinity.

    Of course you can come.

Who wants to pick up GatoGato (if he doesn't have a bike yet). He looks pretty small- I bet he could ride bitch? :D Or maybe that's all the incentive he needs to get a bike.
