So, I'm probably in the wrong forum and the question has already been asked and answered a hundred times. Yes I searched...

Now that we're past that...does anyone know of a US highway map, net based or hard copy? I can't seem to make Google spit out what I want. Looking for US1, US101, and all the others in between.

The US highways are generally pretty nice, well maintained but still scenic imo. Any leads?

    Thanks!

1955...I guess part of the adventure is discovering how (in)correct it is? :jack

I don't understand what you are looking for. I think virtually all maps show US highways.
They also show interstates and state roads, but it is usually pretty easy to tell the difference.

Are you looking for a map that only shows US highways and not interstates and state highways?

It also sounds like you might be looking for a numerical descriptive list of US highways and maybe not a map showing where they go.

I agree that using US highways for long trips is a better way to go than interstates.

A map without interstates would be great. State highways would be ok, but it's the US highways I'm really interested in. I've seen the Wikipedia list; wish it was in a map form.

If you look down the wikipedia page you will find the original list of transcontinental routes from 1925. Good place to start.

How long you going to be here?

I wonder if there is a way to filter the OSM data?

Doesn't exist because a lot of the times interstates overlap with state highways and Natiinal Routes

I'm still not certain what your goal is. But I know, on an Android system, I can easily tweak an XML file that will hide any road type in OSMand. So I could basically turn off the display of highways on an Android device in the program OSMand.
