I hear the bells ringing! In the big city briefly on the 17th and blowing town on the 21st, would be fun for a quick hug! Maybe in pajamas?
    Safe trip home! Wine?

Thinking Saturday might be a good bbq gathering day... After Barbs flee market of course. Any interest on reminiscing of the summer gone by out here in Eagle River?

We are a bit behind, okay I am a bit behind while Gina has her Facebook blog rolling... A few wedding pictures from the Knopf wedding, a 3 day celebration with food and drink for about 150 people a day. WOW! Never pass up a free meal - but remember you still have to fit into your riding gear!

    This is in Heidelberg.

I am not finding much time to update and load up pictures so far. Between distillery tours, Scottish picnic, Roman Bath tour, and Stonehenge today, you might get some inclination that we are in the UK. Been putting on a number of miles on small and large roads - more than our normal trips which is less than you’d think. Average is about 250 a day unless we are in one place for a few days. Then we just ride naked (unpacked bike) around the local villages.

We love small pubs with character, slate or thatched roofs, and dry stone walls lining the fields. Wallace and Grommet led us to a great cheese factory and soon Downton Abbey and Poldark will play roles. We will cross over to Ireland in the near future but first we must spend a week in the Cornwall area. Plus I need to get a new front tire soon...

The Eurotunnel was a new adventure. Pretty uneventful really. Just ride onto the train, through the enclosed rail cars made for hauling cars in large tubes under water... just park at an angle on the side stand, and sit or stand and wait until you are out. Not real exciting but fast and simple. 30 minutes.

We are in Newton Abbot for the week riding around locally. Yesterday’s ride took us along the coast through fishing towns and villages. Later in the day the weather turned and we started to think about heading back... we get through one last town and we see the road ending at the docks and a ferry across to Dartmouth. Well, we either make a tight turn on a steep camber and go back the way we came or ride onto the ferry. Hate repeating roads so across the water we go.

3 pounds and a few minutes to cross. We are on a small car barge, free floating, with a small tug like boat tie to us with ropes. The tug backs us up, un hooks from us, does a turn so it is forward, re hooks and away we go. That was a first seeing that type of ferry.

The night ended with us walking to a pub for a pint and the game. World Cup brings out the best in the locals language!

Had a new tire put on at the Motorcycle Warehouse in the town we have stayed the last week. Great people with an amazing assortment of used vintage bikes. New front Anakee 3 cost 83 pounds and 20 for installation. $132 US money. That was the first time getting a tire on the road anywhere in Europe as we usually put them on at Knopf's before we hit the road. The old front tire had over 12K on it and didn't look too bad (Conti road attack). Heading to Cornwall today to visit Poldark...
