Some usernames get my attention. Sometimes I'm wondering...what's that about?

So to start it off, mine is probably pretty obvious. Remember way back when, when Kawasaki came up with the Ninja? And then Honda followed up with the Interceptor. And then briefly with the Hurricane. Maybe that was just here in the U.S.? Anyway, I remember in 86 when the GSX-R's first came to the states. No name game with Suzuki, just those 4 letters. And Yamaha with the FZ's. Honda figured it out pretty quick too and dumped the Hurricane name in favor of the CBR. Only Kawasaki held on, and by God almost 40 years later the Ninja still gets its place on their bikes. Well, actually Honda has used the Fireblade name on their big CBR in Europe since the first one haven't they?

So those original slab side Suzuki's had the "R" on the tank and underneath in small letters was "hypersports". Yamaha was right there too with "pure sports". I couldn't get enough of the Suzuki man, so much so that from the word go, all of my online handles and emails have always included some variation of hypersports.

Nothing magic here. Looked at a couple that were already used, went with my old Army unit.

I used to plan my hunts when the weather, wind, and time in the season was just right. As my career progressed and I got busier, I found it was important to just hunt whenever I could. I started using this username on archery and hunting forums and stuck with it.

My first Triumph motorcycle. After a hundred thousand miles, my 2nd Sprint was silver and I use Slvrsprint on another forum, but Brg is still my email and username on a few forums.

Rode 16km up Salmon Glacier road to rescue a guy with a 10mm hole in his rear tire. Followed him back down to Hyder to make sure he made it, eating dust all the way. Pulled up to the Sealaska Inn and another rider says... "damn, that's a dirty bike".

Mine is the name of our ranch here in Florida. Rode the scooter out there today to check on the cows. Our brand which we never use anymore is a bar with a zero underneath.
The cows were waiting for me under those trees.

I'm a fairly conservative guy with libertarian leanings who deeply enjoys psychedelic music from the '60s and early '70s.

    And it was available.

Nickname I earned by my inability to keep my Hobie Cat 16 right side up. It translates very well to my riding ability.

Because we have a big old windmill in the front yard, and being pretentious, or clever isn't my nature.

Well seeing as I spent 20 years of my life working as a skibum it fit and the 69 was a little humour that made it unique enough that I've been able to use the same username on every forum I'm a member of. Funnily enough youtube would not let me use it so I had to go with skibum96 on there.

After a bad divorce several years back. I had gone through a bunch of life changes. Amphib is a shortened version of the name I used to use. A bit more subtle than rising phoenix, and implied transformation. Friends from other places just call me amp. I had a few other names picked out when I joined here but they were all taken, so I defaulted back to an oldie.

    Redux of an ancient thread?

“Mr. B.” was the nickname of Billy Eckstine, a famous jazz singer from the 40’s. My auntie always called me that.
