Sorry it took so long to get this info up on the website! In addition to the National in April, the RMTA will be hosting the Western Youth Nationals in July and the Ute Cup this year, so logistics and planning have been challenging!

Here's the link to the RMTA Ute Cup page, which has the preregistration form included: http://rockymountaintrials.org/utecup.htm

Direct link to the info document: http://rockymountaintrials.org/docs/2018utecupinfo.pdf

    The Basics:
    When = August 18th-19th
Where = Rainbow Trail near Salida, CO - starting near Hayden Creek Campground
Who = TMs are Scott Jordan and Paul Smith
How much = $50 per day
Why = It's going to be a blast as usual!

Camping spots are limited at the pits, it has been suggested to consider Cutty's Campground especially for larger RVs. Check out the site and info documents above - they have way more information.

Top ten riders at the 1974 Ute Cup. My first one, I started the same minute with Whaley and Schrieiber. Wish I would of had a pic as I was one my new Ossa, Whaley on the Montesa and of course Bernie on the Bul.

Interesting scores. What type of sections did they have that year to take so many points from the top riders in the country?

For one thing it was Fairplay, going over Sheep mountain above tree line. Bernie certainly had a good ride considering all his jetting woes. Then again we all had that problem. Almost 13k elevation, bikes run real bad at that elevation.

Gosh that'd be a good time! The last one I did was 29 years ago. It's now on the calendar. I could ride the same bike as 29 years ago!

5 from PA headed out that I know of. Should be a great time.

Anyone have some guidance for how much gas to bring along for a Honda 4t?

Enough to fill the tank three times and a little extra. Two gallons should do it. Most bikes should be able to do each loop on a tank this year--approximately 15 mile loop.

4 gallons. You will be lost once, you might go for a trail ride with friends and you will be upside down more than once with all the slick tree roots on the loop.

Hey Bob is there any way to get an "idea" of how many riders we could be expecting? Curious on finisher pins for this one; last year I made way too many and threw away a bunch.

If not no worries, just checking.........

As of this morning, there are only 25 riders signed up. I can share the link to the list so you can check it as it gets closer - PM me your email.

With only 30 riders the Rainbow Trail would be alot more pleasurable than with 100. Maybe we should go.

I think I will be signing up.

Based on the posts above, I should be ok with a stock tank on a Scorpa 300? I don’t need to carry any gas on my back?

I need to purchase a spark arrestor, any recommendations?

    How about jetting?

    Sorry for so many questions.

Next round of questions: Is an AMA membership all I need or do I need to join Rocky Mountain Trials?

Just AMA. Spark arrestor and CO OHV are also requirements.
