Noted on the calendar.

I did the East Coast Rendevous last year, but I may choose to do this instead this year.

I went to Eastern Rendezvous last year and passed a bunch of stroms on my way home. I like the variety, and Hot Springs is so close you can go to either. I'm looking forward to seeing all the stroms together :clap

Sure had a great group last year John!

Hope to make it again this go round. Looking forward to enjoying Garry's rainfree forecast. The last two years have been a little wet.

Darling Bride and I are coming, but couldn't get a cabin and she doesn't camp too well. Does anybody know anything about the Kickstand Lodge? It's like a mile from the IronHorse.

We stayed at the Iron Horse last October. Great place and great people. Make sure and eat breakfast and dinner at the lodge each morning and night (you'll have to sign up) as the food is great. Save room for desert.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
Great central location allows you to make runs for Deals Gap to the NW, Robbinsville Cherohala/Tellico Plains to the SW and Cherokee BRP entrance to the East.
There are some great roads in that area. Here are a few pictures to wet your whistle.

And don't forget to take a ride through the Joyce Kilmer state park.
If you want to do a little exploring, head west off 129 just north of Robbinsville into the Joyke Kilmer S.P. and take NC 1134 to the Cherohala. Where the Cherohala Skyway meets NC 1134 you'll find a hard packed dirt/gravel road the runs past Stewarts cabin and winds its way back to the Cherohala. You can hop back on there or continue into Tellico Plains.

It looked a little smaller in property than the Iron Horse and didn't look to have a lodge to assemble and lie...er a..a exchange stories each night.
I'd call the Iron Horse and ask them. If they have no more cabins, I'm sure they'll give you an honest answer about the kickstand.

Not sure I can make it yet, but do we need reservations if we're planning on tenting it?
