I rode across the country 3245 miles in 7 days on a V-Strom I bought at the end of September. I knew within 50 miles that my backside was not happy. But , what are you going to do ? Harden up and ride it out.
After I got home I started looking for a seat . I found a Sargent for the '14 and up V's with a feature I hadn't considered , heat front and rear with dual controllers . It was a little high at first then the guy dropped it a $100 OBO , so I bid $25 less and got it. Still haven't hooked up the heaters , but , will sometime .
So far I've done a couple of 200 + miles days and am happy with it . It would have made a huge difference in the cross country trip . Nice place to sit.

    Okay, I give up.

What's the frame and what engine/s is/are supposed to fit* in there?

    * everything fits if you own a grinder and a welder.

Just had a look. Even old mate says that it'll fit a 125~250cc.

550 folding beer tokens seems a tad steep for what it is.

Possibly related to the bloke that wants 150 tokens for the Malcolm Smith tank.

Yeah I saw the tank as well.
    The frame is missing bits.
    Would it fit a 6fiddy?
    Who knows?
The price is coming down slowly.
Not sure if it is welded or braised (chrome moly).
    Welded would be better.
May ask for a few measurements.
Had my slack day ( post shut collapse).
    Visit the dad day today.
2 days to play before the next shut.
    What to do?

They recently had a heap of rain so canned the shut ( apron feeder for us)
Clowns made me do a forklift VOC here in town by the same type of people who issued my high risk ticket in the 1st place .
    Just over 2 years ago.
Yeah I know 1st drove a forklift in1973 but obviousy
    Haven't a clue now.
    How screwed up is that.
Still I did teach the instructor/examiner a couple of things.

    Priorities.
May need to finnish/redo a few things on the Suzy
So i can use it to carry welders and gear for a local job.

Wondering about a tow bar for the Guzzi as well.

Decided to have a look at the old Yam.

There was a little petrol still in the tank after 7? years or so.

The oil foam air filters are staring to break down with age.

Found a can of carb cleaner that must be 10 yrs old .

It promptly leaked its contents till empty so I caught it in a container then tipped it in the fuel tank hoping to clean the carbs somewhat.

Not successful as they leaked like the proverbial.

62mm OD carb mouth the sucker is big.

Kicked it over with a battery connected just to see.

I think one of my Willie Wag tails went missing about then??

It has a 750 kit? as far as I know which computed with the kick resistance.

When I had my 1st as a 19 yr old I tended to just boot it not worrying about de compressors or top dead centers.

Just here cop this, sometimes the thing would back fire and blow the carbies off but easily fixed.

Might see if I can drop the bowls and have a Captain Cook.

I noticed the short intake as against the VMX 6fiddy.
I am sure a tuner would want to mess with that.
I just want it to make some noise.

Commented about the carb size because well size an all...
Oh thats it the airfilters I need to get...

I'm really excited to see how this project works out. Love the custom work. I have a v7 and the accessory options are so lacking compared to other bikes, and want to make my own parts like you.

    @PopTart

I hope to continue it soon.

Meanwhile the scrap metal sidecar research and developement continues its glacially hasted pace.

Forgot to drill some holes so good thing its only tacked.

38C apparently today proper Christmas weather.

    A minor interruption here

A beach buggy for the infirm.

    Note the trailer rego.

Some clown or a committee of them decided all WA trailer rego's should start with the letter "T".
Well that is after the number denoting the current series.

    Lord help us.

This years new Willie Wag tail.

Slotted holes a a challenge with a pistol drill.

At least it is looking neater.

Square section(silver) clamped to sidecar frame is my straight edge.
Measured carefully from the bike to set it parallel then from the chair wheel to set toe in .
Went with a couple of mm for now.
There is a slight steering action with the lean of the bike so going for minimum scrub.

Bolting with these without technical data on torque settings so going with as close to bull ring as I can.

If I can work out how to load the links to my smugmug account from my phone (which I doubt) I will show my friend Steve's efforts at building a leaner using light ali sheet bodywork.
Waiting at the airport at the moment to fly out.
Maybe able to load them on a friends puta in Cambodge.

Old mate showed up with one like this earlier this year.
He is is in the process of building a leaner for it.
So we crawled around it playing spot the fix-it points.
Tells me he has one those folder roller chopper thingies as well as a TIG.
Along with a special doohicky for make holes neat enough to make Luke drool...... well more anyway.
It looks like being an ultra light weight unit.
