Not quite the picture I expected...
Haha I have so many bad memories of that place I was stuck there for some 10 months in C-school.
How much of a pain was it to get the Africa Twin into the states? Did you use a registered importer or just wing it?
‘there are old enough that it isn’t as hard... or so I heard.
Not too bad. HHG helped me fill out most paperwork prior to pack out from Japan. Nearest CBP port of entry was Richmond . They originally wanted me to trailer both bikes down but they agreed to just take the paperwork. Quick trip down and got the import stamps. VA DMV to much longer. I had copies of the blue Japanese title and had one of my employee translate right on the copy. That is required by Virginia. No import duties as both bikes were over 25 years old and no additional inspections due to age of bikes. Living on base till I close on a house.
Ii am looking at that same process here in a year or two when I leave I am only extended to 2022....and I don't see another extension happening. I knew to look because I got E-mailed that your waifu retired
So this just happened......lets see how many trees I can bounce this thing off of.
Nice. I didn't do any off road while there. That thing should be a blast. I have 3 kawasakis in the herd.
Hoping I can get my wife on it.
Closest my wife gets is sitting in a sidecar. Speaking of which, I pick her up at Dulles tonight.
Congrats on her retirement
Welcome home Melinda! Hope to see both of you real soon! :)
