Haha this is getting off to a nice rocky start! Appropriate though since there will be many rocky trails to ride in this game.

I wasn't able to place the next tag where I WANTED because it was getting dark but did manage to snag a few pictures while out and about. I'll post the next tag here shortly but the pictures are not the best.

The route number is diagonal number keys top to bottem. The fork of the creek needs some clothes. Part of the road name is something used in 18th and 19th century schools to write on.

I'm suprised no one got this earlier. Lovely little road, we take it often when heading west. Street bike friendly :deal

Didn't have time to get it back out again. Hope to do that Sun tho' w/out knowing how to post with cell phone, I'm not sure I'll be able to get it on here in time for someone to retrieve it... but I'll try.

Well, 3 hours and 5 gallons of gas later, I can say with absolute certainty....
It's not where I though it was.

    Never did find it.

I did travel all along one Rt 753, but apparently not the right one.
I did find a creak called Bare Ridge, but no roads around it.
I did find a road named Slate Lick, but not bridges on it.

I also passed someone who may have been riding an old BMW dual-sport.

Question on what the rules for this game should be.
Originally, I'd wanted it so that you couldn't claim the tag unless you also posted a new one with it.
    Looks like that isn't working.

Next, File Photos. I don't think that people should just store photos of dirt roads ready to use.
But, I did photo a new tag on my way to claim this one today, before Gimme posted it. Can I use that photo for my next tag, or should I just delete it?

#1 I missed that rule :huh It actually could make sense, as it would keep the game lively. Usually, I would do that anyway, but this time I didn't have time to "keep going". May I suggest we say the tag is still unclaimed?

    #2 I don't like file photos. YMMV.

So, do we want to have the new tag posted on the same day as the grab or does it have to be in the same post as the grab? Instead of the 3-day limit on va-tag, the ds-tag could be with in 24hour limit. This would still give you some flexibility.

Even though I had totally missed it, I kinda like the "both pics must be in same post" rule. My reasoning is thus: If this is really a D/S game, then we have a limited number of trails/roads to explore. So each one is going to have to be "milked" for all it's worth. As example, when the Flagpole tag was claimed, on could then post another tag along the same road. If the point is to get folks out into slightly more "challenging" territory, then that would accomplish that goal. It also helps keep the game from stalling while someone gets back out to post the next tag a day later.

HburgNinja and I (Skippii indirectly?) had also talked about the possibility of making it more like a Geocache, and maybe even adding a short hike to retrieve a "traveller" tag (the toy ktm) .

I'm not sure about the geocache thing, and I don't know if there's enough D/S dirt in these couple of counties to keep the game going indefinately. So far, the tags have all been road bike friendly. Seeing as how I'm a dirt wimp, I'm fine with that too.

Really, as long as it's two-wheeled, it's all good! :ricky
