    Howdy Island folks.

Well, my brother - who lives in Victoria - is very close to getting his licence and should be ready to hit the road soon! :ricky

I told him to drop by here and say hello.

I think he'll need some folks to ride with while he has his learners, and I'm sure you guys could show him the ropes. He's an experienced trials rider on mountain bikes, so I know he's going to be able to school me once he gets a hang of the clutch!

He's looking at a DRZ400, if the price comes down a bit.

Can't wait to see where he gets to! :freaky

    Heelllloooooo, is this thing on?
I've been riding for years, street bikes. Started riding dirt and I bought a Honda XR650L for the dirt.
I've ventured out and found a few trails, but nothing major.
    Looking for fellow riders.

Thanks Anton, yep getting a bike soon. anyone around the south island want to show me yer favorite trails? I grew up in Lake Cowichan, and live in Vic now. I have another buddy who bought a DRZ400, so odds are we'll be adventuring together this summer! As my brother mentioned im on the "L" stage for the road, and so is my buddy, but we only have the sunrise to sunset restriction left to deal with. no supervision required! anyway, say hi if you want to go for a ride sometime!

I went above and beyond my comfort levels yesterday. Did some backroads, some creeks and some scarey single track, all on my XR650l.
I was with 2 others on smaller dirtbikes and they were shocked when I followed them.

Hey MCIG, I watched some of your videos and enjoyed them. Can you tell me where the 'High Country' one was filmed? I especially enjoyed that one. Thanks!

There are usually a lot of Vancouver Island ADV riders who hang out at Kickstart Coffee ( next to Duncan Motorsports) in Duncan, particularly Saturdays and Sundays.

Hey Squonker, thanx most of that one was shot above and around Buttle Lake in Strathcona Park. I was Told that logging road to the top was one of the most Difficult roads ever built. Some parts were crazy steep to get up ,but once on top the view is spactacular!

Love this place...a quick loop (or it's supposed to be) from Horne Lk. to Cook Ck road. Not so much on the ridable side last week. Sure was a hoot trying though..maybe by June...who's up?

...I enjoy the loop Langford, Sooke, Jordan River, Port Renfrew..then either Gordon Main or the main PMCR...Masachie Lake, Nitihaht, Carmanah/Walbran, Youbou, Timmy's on (Drinkwater [how fitting] Road) for sprint back over Malahat...a good ride is 6-8 hours...some short breaks...who's up?

I'm in! Gotta keep heading north at NitNat. Up to Alberni, up the Beaver Creek Road and onto the Comox Lake Road to Cumberland, then down the slab on 19A. Huge day, did it last fall, some tired parts but the beer sure tasted good.

Do you go into nitnat wallbran and back track? or is there a loop from Gordon main without going through cayuse?
