Does anyone on Vancouver Island have a GS-911 diagnostic tool that they'd be willing to plug my bike into? I'd like to clear a service reminder and change the tire pressure from bar to psi. Please pm me a reply if you can help. thx.

The road from Port Alberni to Bamfield and on to Lake Cowichan, is it pavement, gravel, or some of each?

While my dual sport would be nice on the island, for most of the trip my street bike would be better. But it don't like dirt very much.

It's all gravel roads. Wouldn't try it without knobby tyres.

After plowing through about 20 patches of snow, this was where we gave up and took a scouting walk..

This was the last bare spot and then it became continuous ..

This looks fantastic! I'm planning on coming up from Victoria with a friend (both on big bikes) and doing most of the tcat tracks from Port Alberni on up. Are there any spots that may be impassable around the May long weekend?

The section from Sayward heading North and West is likely to be still snowed in about 25 KM up the track.. It is a section that goes through tight mountain valleys that has some elevation gain and is usually the last one to melt out on the whole Island track... White/Gold pass can also be snowed in, but the last couple of years it has been bulldozed as they have been working up there... I suspect the upper Tashish to Benson valleys will be open by then..

Thanks so much for the heads up! It'll be fun to see where we can't get to. It's supposed to be an adventure, right?
