Best money I’ve spent on the bike for sure!
I’ve never checked to see if one is hotter or not, but I know one sees a lot more spray from the front tire and seems to cake up more
Trying to get into the Island Adventure game. Currently in the process of getting a license and adventure bike. Spent lots of time in the dirt on a KDX but no time on the street. Hoping to do some epic rides in the near future like the TAT and CDT. Dwindled my bike choices down to a DR650 or WR250r. In a perfect world I would buy both......but if I only have the means for 1 am I better trying to outfit the WR for the odd long haul and enjoy it on the Island most of the time or buy the DR and be more comfortable on the long trips but pay the weight toll on the Island. Let me know what you think. If you know of any minty bikes please keep me posted. Thanks in advance.
You didn't mention the DRZ and here is a between the DRZ and WR.
I went the WR route and several here ride DR and DRZ.
Check out RTWPaul (on this site) and his blog for some great DR650 info.
Unless you're doing a lot of single track, get the DR650.
Almost felt like summer here on the North Island today. Went for a rip up the coast the back way to Holberg. Great day for a ride. Thought the bike was starting to feel a little squarely when I was getting close to home but didn’t think much of it, turns out my rear tire was down to 3psi, must have picked up something sharp along the way.
wait- it IS summer!
Yup and all the Surfers were out today at Jordon River.
No Canada parade due to Covid, but some of locals decided to show off in Comox harbour.
I tried to get the bike in a shot , but the carbs kept flooding. Lol.
Can anyone say anything bad about a 2015 KTM 1190? Looking at a low mileage one.
Sure, they came with a leaky air-box and a lot of top ends needed to be replaced due to sand and dust contamination. However, if the bike is still running in 2020.... :)
Right, I remember reading something about a fix for that. Thanx!
A few pictures from today's ride around Oliphant Lake
Just spent a couple of days poking around the Island you guys have some beautiful riding I didn't get a chance to do a lot of back road exploring but I will be back. The North part is amazing south end not so much to many folks for me
Photo must of been taken on Sunday July 4, The only sunny day we have had lately.
Nice photo, I know I have seen the fish plant in background but can’t place it?
Doh. I use to pickup fish there 30 years ago.
I have hit this area many times as a ride and hike, we went back up this last weekend with a larger group.. Jason shot and put together a great little video that showcases some of the beauty we have on Vancouver Island..
