Hmm, there's a green KLR down the street from me, but I think it's newer. Still haven't met the owner..

I figure I'll post what I've been up to recently, then post a best of for the last year or so..

This was about 2 weeks ago. I followed J40 south of Kapoor as far as i could, but it got a bit vertical...I figured if I screwed this one up, I'd be hating life! I added the stones for safety. It was the best I could do.

Was really hoping the road did not let go! Felt pretty spongy on the edge.

Fridays ride. I'm getting up into places I didn't think would be doable this time of year!

They've been busy this winter! I believe that is the Jordan river.

It was pretty crunchy, so I gave it a good run, and made it up!

Thanks for sharing! Great photos and cool to see your take on things.

I have been to Victoria once, took the ferry in from Friday Harbor. I had no idea Vancouver Island was as large and diverse as it is... Guess I thought it was like one of the little San Juan islands... Beautiful, might need to head back up there.

I think you should! I doubt if you could see every road in a lifetime! Be sure to check out the "Vancouver Island riders sign in" thread. Gunnerbuck lives about half way up the Island, and has some amazing reports and photos of that end. Far more spectacular than most of what I post!

I see you're in the Bay area. I just happen to have 2 co-workers doing some engineering for a company in Hayward. Small world! Hows the weather down there? It's been about 25C for 3 days here! Rather unusual for this time of year..

I will check it out, thanks!

Today it is rainy and 15C! Could be the last rain we get for a while though... What company are your friends in Hayward at? There's some great local asphalt, not much off road unless you travel North, South or East for a couple hours.

They are doing some design work for Schmidt Ocean Institute, and by the sound of it, working hard! Pretty cool stuff.

Such an early spring this year! I tried to find the way to Weeks Lake, but have lost it ever since they logged the area..So this is where I ended up. It's a maze out there!

    IMG_0843.JPG

Here's Waterloo Mountain. I can see it from Patricia Bay in Sidney! I'm gonna climb it one of these days I think.

    IMG_0848.JPG

    Great views.

    IMG_0847.JPG
But I have no idea where I am!

Now there's a trick. A picture that actually makes a cliff look steep (2nd last one). Nice, looks like you really got "out there" :)

I can give you one better. Here's my brother Motojournalism on the edge of Cruikshank Canyon in Strathcona Park!

That inspired me to climb a hill labelled "the Matterhorn" on OSM. Of my lame attempts at "down", I like this one:
That's roughly 5 km NW of Shirley.

Id have to agree! Bears are a regular occurrence, I've seen 3 cougars, Wolfs=0! This is as close as ive come. Within a couple hours, tide hadn't washed the tracks away

I'd feel pretty confident it was a wolf, I think a dog would probably come to check you out

Is that the one just north of Campbell River? Would probably be a great ride and hike! Be sure to take Tropic-Of-Canada with you :) And thanks on the site
