Every morning when I leave the house about 6:15 am, the single incandescent light from the garage door opener casts a cool light on the bike

was hoping to this weekend but i was sicker than hell Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday felt better but too weak to pull the bike off the table without help and risk of dropping it.

I did fix the primary drain plug leak (gotta tighten it, DOH!) and adjust the clutch and cable/lever free play.

so it’s ready. Itll get some test miles, then cleaned and put for sale.

Got it down off the table, rode it around the neighborhood, seems good. Looming rain prevents the desire for a ride. Will try again tomorrow.

Nah, it’s gunna get cleaned up and posted for sale.

if I keep it, I’ll tear it all apart and build it a different way. The fun for me is in the build, I’m pretty done riding for the time being.

Just for shits and giggles, go ride a fresh 990 or 1090 KTM Adventure before you hang up your helmet.
Do a test ride out of LA city limits....
Go see Malcom Smith's KTM shop out Riverside and ask him what roads to ride on.

I know all the good roads. I’ve ridden a ktm 990 adventure and a 990smt, v stroms, bmw’s, new triumphs, scooters, dual sports from 250-650, big twins, mopeds.

I have hundreds of thousands of miles behind bars.

when I say I’m pretty done for now, I’m pretty done for now. When you aren’t feeling it, and it’s a “forced” action, is when shit goes wrong, and ya get hurt.

there’s more to life for me at this stage of the game...... stay tuned

I've felt that on occasion, and chosen not to ride.

Fortunately it is a short term thing for me, but I totally get where you are coming from.

Yeah, I mean, I’m 36, been riding since I was 3, I’ve got plenty of time left, but right now I wanna do some other things. And since I’m a broke ass, and can’t afford too many hobbies, bike will go, I’ll do some other stuff, and circle back when I feel it’s the right time.

I took a 12 year break. Eventually I got the urge again, in 2003. Do what makes you happy. That is all we can hope for! :deal

In 2001 I broke my right knee, tibia fibula, acl, and a month before that fractured a vertebra in my back.

I took 13 years off from dirt, but only like 6 weeks from street.

now with traffic what it is, distracted drivers what they are, and the fact it takes 2 hours to escape em, I don’t feel the risk/reward. I don’t think I’ll go back to dirt short of a camp bike. I’ll use a 4x4 for that. Street, I still like. But it’s just not worth it.

I have not yet learned that lesson. I commute into DC daily.

That said, the cage has been looking appealing lately.

Yea VI, I get it. Can't blame me for trying.....

I am so lucky to live where I can do multi 100 mile rides with out a traffic light right out of my garage.
2016 a 19 year old knocked me off my 950. Screwed up my ACL. That is the worst that happened to me ...pushing ...well maga miles..
Thos fugger and their left had turns...can't out guess them..
Got room in your back yard for an electric trials bike?
    Later..

My backyard is the size of a 2 car garage, in a condo association. No trials. Ha
