yea, saw that. Carb looks to be an AMAC or early AMAL. Possibly 4 valve heads from what I can see of the rear head.

    Beat me to it. It's a 1924 Montgomery-Anzani 1000cc:

That's from when men were men. Not just the bike chain to get your trousers caught in.

Mate. How I would so love to step into THE Tardis, and see/ experience how these boys and girls worked through this....It must have been amazing.

Edit... Like, they never backed off! Just kept going, to be Faster, for Longer...

I know not a lot has changed in that regard, But these days.. it’s gunna be done mostly on a ‘puter...

I went to the Historic Motor Cycle Club of Queensland's Centenary Motorcycle Rally in 2018, for bikes over 100 years old.
It was extraordinary to see just how far bikes have come in the last century.
Watching someone run through the starting drill and riding procedure using nearly a dozen possible controls, levers, pumps etc. was enough to do your head in.
Watching riders go in circles at an intersection so they didn't have to stop was a laugh.

I always liked the Scott Flying Squirrel. It combined two-stroke technology with liquid-cooling back in 1929. Simple and elegant...

The engine was hardly any different in the 1969 Brum offering:

You've heard of Airheads, Oilheads, and Wetheads, but what about the Foamhead?
