It’s slowly making me crazy too..... I could swear Ive seen that weird U-shaped frame before, but can’t figure out where.

On the plus side, I have been finding lots of other cool machines while looking for this one.

    ^^ Very annoying indeed.
What's to be seen of the frame looks just like the bottom loop of a Lambretta scooter's, but that's not it.
And it's a "surprisingly quick" race bike ? On those tyres ?
There's a good sized compression plate under the cylinder, and a spacer for the distribution, so the stroke's likely been increased...
To me the only clue to tie it to a production engine are the finned crankcase bosses, but so far no cigar...
    Good one.

Built 1954-56. Powered a rather revolutionary machine that never made it to production. But certainly should have....

One of the two Byra 1000s built is in the Museu Moto Bassalla collection. It's also home to another two-stroke four cylinder two-stroke, a 400 built from four Derbi 98 engines in 1954.

    Okay, that made me LOL.
Can you imagine? Guy throws the last bit of luggage in, climbs up on the wing and starts pull starting the engines?
