At Pay Dirt's brother's place in Quesnel, BC in the fall of 1980.

The guy in the middle and the guy on the right (Pay Dirt here on ADV) were enroute from Southern Ontario to California and Mexico for the winter.

edit: that's me on the left.

hummmm... Not what it appears to be you say. You sure?
You are only the second person (since 1976) who has thought something was not quite right. What did you see? Why do you say it is a 900? Sure its not an S without the fairing?

Well, now that you mention it, I guess it could be an R75/6 with R90S bodywork. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. :beer

The single front disc gave it away.

Single disk was what made me think it was a swapped front end, or a tarted up /6. :D Lornce beat me to the post.

But the resolution on that picture is not that good . . .

you sir have a educated eye. And a good memory. It is however a 750. I bought it new and had all the body work, except the faring, swapped over before I took delivery. Had the low bars of the S. I wanted the 750 gearing and, although the pumper carbs of the S would have been nice, elected to go the way I did rather than put a 750 rear end in the S.
I know, I know; the foolish vanity of youth.
Oh, the other guy who noticed? We became and remain close friends some 40 yrs on and just spent 2 weeks riding in Canada and talking about the bikes we should not have sold. Be well- IMG_20170725_211703.jpg

And the camera was a instamatic 110 -point and shoot. Bike is gone but still have the camera; go figure.

Yeah saw it at the NYC Cycle Show at the Javits Center.... The only weird thing to me was why not mount it on the other side ??? So if the bike falls over it doesn't Cush you to death ?????

isnt that a 90s tank? I reckon the original fairing has been removed, but is it only one disc?

Riding / camping along Montana / Wyomings Beartooth Highway during the Summer of 1976, the countries Bi-Centennial.
Parties / live concerts occurring in small towns around Yellowstone Park.....we attempted to attend them all. Took a week back home to recover.
"Stars & Stripes" helmet in left of photo was on my buddies sissy bar on his CB 350. Didn't need a BIG bike for touring in those days. My 1971 Honda 500-4 was considered a pretty big bike to us....plus I was packing a passenger.
Back when camping gear consisted of an big old sleeping bag / my old military rucksack and a tarp....tents?....who needed them! All we needed was booze, cold beer and some cheap weed.

My Uncle Fred. Probably around 1946 or 47.

He looked "cool" before anyone knew what that meant!

    Cool thread!
SOrry, I don't have any pix to share from the "good old" days... too much dope, I'd killed myself on a bike for sure...
