Well, dear friends, it has been another year since my last goose successful long journey, on my 2013 Moto Guzzi Stelvio, which was recorded for posterity in the Moody Goose to the West... ride report.

That's right, last goose.. because this year, I am taking my new goose - a 2016 Moto Guzzi Stelvio - on a East coast voyage originating in North Carolina, with a blurred path to a destination North, in the hopefully sunny Newfoundland, which we have never seen.

Preparations and a very meticulously picked route, have been mostly disregarded so far, in favor of moment's decisions and how good the morning coffee will be tasting each day.. and so if you wish, please stay tuned as we are planning as we go and going exactly as planned!

Here is the new Red Goose in it's forced habitat

..now, where did I put that ferry schedule?

It should be a fun journey.
I generally recommend a turn around the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island (on the way) if time permits.
Sunny Newfoundland is humorous. The south side of the island is almost always shrouded in fog, however it dissipates as you get inland.
Again if time permits take the bridge over to Prince Edward Island. There's a ferry at the east end of the island that will get you to Nova Scotia.

Thanks folks, all comments and recommendations are really appreciated! I just learned from the other thread about the winds in the Wreckhouse north of Port aux Basques - had no idea!

Damn that was a long trip. I just did a quick scan but I'll have to go back through.

I just went to my first Guzzi club meeting in Enumclaw, WA. Well, technically I pulled into the parking lot as everyone was leaving but I did get to meet some people.

The club president told us that at the John Day event last year there were 33 Stelvios.
