There are some amazing ridgetop dispersed camp spots between Ellensburg and Cashmere and also north of Cashmere. Also near Ardenvoir is Pine Flats CG.

When you are tired of riding for the day, just turn off the route onto another road and head up hill until you see your dream spot and camp out.

Going north between Ellensburg and Cashmere there are tons of places to camp in the woods (national forest) for free. I just pick a spot a nice spot and setup.

Hi all, I have a friend on 4 wheels hoping to get some advice.
He's hoping to take some coworkers on route 2 in June, and is concerned about the mud/snow on Bethel ridge during that time.

He drives a '10 Toyota Tacoma, modified, has experience
He is leading a group of two other (stock) vehicles. One is a '17 Pathfinder, I don't know about the other. it's their first time out.

Besides his recovery gear, he also has a chainsaw, spare drinks, and some degree of mechanical aid (tools and on board air at the least), and he's always willing to help out anyone on the trails - look for a black Tacoma with neon green accents!

What's the advice you're looking for?

They'll be fine. Minivans can do the route.

In early June? . . . in Montana or Idaho they'd be buried in snow and mud for sure.

Every year is different. You're probably fine. But maybe not. Go back and read the old reports. We had more snow this winter than last year. Good luck

Anyone know if I can rely on there being fuel in Nile, WA when you drop down to WA-410 on section 2 of the BDR? Timeframe being June 23rd.

Call the place as your trip is about to begin. There won’t be anything more reliable than that.

There's a newer campground just across the river and south of the bridge....Just the basics, but empty when I stopped by on a trip last year..I can't remember the name or whether it's BLM-DNR-or what.....

I didn't know there was gas in Nile.

Whistlin Jacks is 11 miles west of Nile and there is gas there.

BDR map depicts fuel there, that's why I ask. I figured Naches would be my alternate spot to fuel up the WR, but whistlin jacks may be closer and more on route. I need to look at that. Thank you for the input.

Are there some roads and passes on the WABDR that might not be clear of snow until May or June? Are some seasonal roads on the route not yet open?

I ask from New Hampshire. Some of the forest roads here in the White Mountains are gated closed until mud season is over later in Spring.

I'm hoping there's a way for me to ride the WABDR this year. Is June too early for this route?

There is gas in Nile at Eagle Rock Grocery. There is gas 5 miles west of Nile at Squaw Rock Resort. They even have 92 octane non ethanol... And of course if you really want to go out of your way Whistling Jacks has gas too. Stop at Gold Creek if you are looking for a good meal.

Most snow I've ever seen for this time of year. I bet Bethel Ridge will not melt out till mid June........ We'll see.

I'm going to be riding Section 2 and 3 possibly 4 late June. I have the same concern with snow pack being 130% this year. But I feel for the most part the sections I want to ride should be clear enough. I hope...

Early June will likely be too early. Mid to late June possible depending on snow melt till then. Bookmark this thread as there will be updates.

It took until the last week of June last year before section 2 got fully opened up in the Gifford and there wasn't as much in the way of snow pack as this year.

That's only a few miles from Naches, 20 minutes maybe.
