Walcha? ...reasonable choice for an overnight stay?

Any recommendations for good pub or similar price accommodation there or close nearby?

You know me, I always go out of my way to not upset anyone.

All good thanks folks, looks like a wealth of pretty good accommodation in Walcha
    walchansw.com.au/where-to-stay/

I picked the Walcha Royal Café Accommodation.... any place with motorbikes on their website and a lock up shed out the back can't be all bad.

Ive stayed at the Commercial Hotel (on Commercial Lane) a few time and really like it.
Expensive if you do not share a room. $110 or $65 for a 2 share.
    Food is top notch. :drink

Caravan Park (Middle St) is great and cheap if you share a cabin - nice walk into town via the small stream and art sculptures.

I do not recommend eating at the Apsley Arms... food was very sub par and service was very slow.

The Motel is a good place to stay too , central to everything and no dearer than the pubs .

    Two more possibilities:
camp at Apsley Falls, 20 km east on the Oxley.
    and
Ginger's Creek roadhouse used to have accommodation, 80 km east on the Oxley.

Another option is Bendemeer pub. 50kms west of Walcha. Very bike friendly, lockable sheds and good food.

Still does. Had many a boozy night there with John Liddell when he used to do tours.

The Apsley Arms has a very bad rep from mates. Avoid.
