Instead of selling the Wee, I'm thinking about adding a sidecar. Thoughts?

Unless you focus on making the sidecar light weight, I think you are going to find the 650 to be under powered.

Really? I was thinking of putting a side car on my DR and thought the big thumper would work well. Hummmm. Now I gotta rethink or maybe a Ural. Not sure of that though.

Let's just say, diplomatically, that when my wife rides pillion on my 650 VStrom that it could use another 150-200cc of oomph.

Ah, an old married guy's wisdom. You said it very well-I hope.

It's just one of those ideas I get. People put hacks on DRs and DL650s, and seem to like them. Can't be any more underpowered than a Ural. I agree though that weight could be a factor.

Does a Ural make its 38hp at low rpm?

I'm know a Strom 650 can handle a 400 lbs payload but it won't go anywhere fast and will scream its bloody head off if you try.

The bike is sold, so this ride report is truly at the end.

As I’ve said, the VStrom is a great bike that just didn’t suit my needs. I would definitely recommend it, so if you’re thinking of buying one and have questions then feel free to ask.
