I agree. I just mounted Hepco/Becker panier racks on my 800GS, link below, my pix to follow...yes, the entire rack system is removable via large DZUS fasteners...an extemely clean system.:thumb

I use the HB pannier racks to carry Ortlieb Side Bags w/QLR2 System, designed to fit 16mm OD tubinmg, link below. Plan to put a Pelican 1450 on top of a TT rear rack. Will post pix when it's all finished.:pot

    Cheers, M

THANKS! Please do post pictures! :clap

Are there any other mounting systems you are aware of that are "quick release"?

You're doing now what I would like to have done by spring...

    1) A moderate sized top case for in-town use (with no "empty" pannier racks screwing up the looks and getting in my way)

    and

    2) easy-on-easy-off pannier+racks for trips!

    HTC,
Did you get the low seat?

Mine originally came with the low seat and that ridge was driving my ass insane. The dealer got a standard seat for me and my rear is much more comfortable. The bench's still firm, but it's not bothering me.

Yup - it's Eurotech Motorsports. They only do wholesale though.

I modified the standard (high) seat. I dished it out to copy the Corbin seat I had and loved on the F650gs single I had. It is lower about an 1.5" now.

The usual, love 'em or hate them. I have Corbin seats on four bikes. Quality is very good, design good, fit and finish excellent, comfort ... depends on your age state of your butt, hip bones and tail bone. All of my seats fit me just right, but it took some work on two of them. I had to carve out some foam where my tail bone hits on one and add some where my hip bones land. Last is price, usually more than I wanted to spend. On the f800 I'll keep the stock seat but add an Airhawk cushion. Worked for my 1150GS....

I have had Corbins on my last 3 bikes...( 2 -f650gs and 1 - R1150gs) I love them deep dish style and firm padding. And I use a sheepskin over to stop monkey butt. If my "chop job seat" does not work out thats (corbin) where I am heading. I agree the price is a little hard to deal with.

As far as I know, you have to send your seat (or a pan) to Renazco and they'll build it just the way you want it. They're pretty detailed in asking about your ergos and kind of riding.

I just took delivery of the Kaoko throttle lock from Adventurers Workshop today, and installed it along with the Touratech hand guards I've had sitting around for a while. Installation was a breeze, and I managed to get in a short test ride before the Oregon rain hit again. Works like a charm, and the guards do a great job of keeping my hands out of the wind. I've always gone with Throttlemeister with my other bikes. But they don't have one that works with anyone's hand guards yet. I think the Kaoko is easier to use. :thumb
