If we refer back into the archives I'm sure that it can be proven you have never broke any of these violations.

    Jeff,

    N. Bend would be awesome I have stayed at the cabins there.

The excessive noise/ alcohol throws a wrench every time, State Parks are just out, period.

    Dan,
OK, no state parks. How the areas south of RT50? Foe example Blackwater/ Davis, Canaan/D. Sodds, Seneca/Smoke Hole areas? Call or PM me, I'd like to help in the scouting duties.

The Hermitage in Bartow/Frank/Durbin was mentioned earlier. Decent place, but the motel and campground are about a mile apart. That shoots intimacy in the foot.

If WV is on the table, I can add one new thought. The rafting companies around Summersville/Fayetteville are set up for this sort of gig. I'm sure one of them would be more than glad to cater to us. The paved riding is par excellence. Unpaved, a 10-20 mile jaunt will get you as dusty or muddy as you desire.

    The bad:

    It's a bit far South.
The LEOs take their job VERY seriously.
The rafting "season" could be an issue.

I'll do some leg work for ya, iffin ya want.

The Boyer Motel is under new ownership as of late so I'm not sure how that would work now. I know you foo foo BMW jockeys have rallied there in the past. There is a small private campground between Davis and Blackwater Falls State park that used to host many of the race team during the BW 100. No bar on the premises, but a couple of brewpubs less than a mile away.

    Great idea and great location.

The good is much better than the bad.

Late June shouldn't be too much of a rafting season issue.

The only reall bad part is Summersville. How many of us will get a speeding ticket there?

Certainly a percentage of those that run 19. Those that run in and out any of the many back doors, none.

The speed trap in question is a part of Rt 19 that drops from highway speed to either 35 or 45 mph very quickly.

Even your Harley could manage that.

Didn't they used to have a sign posted bragging about being a speed trap?

So what makes a good venue?

Close to great riding and scenery are a given.

    A place that has options to sleep such as;
A private room w/bed and mattress.
A bunkhouse or hostel where you get a bed, but have to share a common bathroom or kitchen.
A place to pitch a tent or string a hammock.

A place to privately shower for those who choose to camp.

A location at the venue that encourages fellowship such as a pavilion or fire pit. The pavilion would also be refuge from rainy weather w/o scattering individuals to separate areas.

A venue that is tolerant of alcohol consumption and the strange behavior that sometimes occurs.

A venue that has food and/or alcohol available and for sale on premise.

What are your thoughts on makes a venue a good one?

Actually there are some good 2 lane roads, country roads, hills, in the Nashville Indiana area and there is this for off-road riders:
    http://www.abateofindiana.org/programs/lc_recreation_park.html

However, I live here in Indiana and dont know any places which can handle 30 hotel rooms and camping in the same location.
However, Brown County State Park (Nashville Indiana) has a total of 84 rooms. http://www.browncountystatepark.com/lodge.html
And they have camping in the park.

I would add that the owners of the venue should have hosted an event like this in the past. Maybe not an ADV event but something similar, like car clubs. This I would hope minimizes misunderstandings. <o:p></o:p>
